Interesting Concept: There is a sweet spot somewhere

Better Jungler··2 votes·379 views

Mathematically, there is a sweet spot somewhere in which this game is 100% balanced. There are too many variables to truly know where this spot it, but in theory, there HAS to be this "spot" that exists.

To have the 138 champions, 200+ items, and all the new runes/combinations line up to hit this point would be pretty much impossible, but just knowing that sweet spot exists somewhere is interesting.

I think there is a certain amount of subjectivity to "balance" but there is also a literal definition as well, and thats what I think we're looking at here.

Ah, but you're making one assumption: That some things existing will inherently make something else unbalanced. No matter how you do it, there's almost certain to be one combination of things that is inherently unbalanced whenever both are considered balanced.

Hm... I see what you're saying. But that also only makes sense if we're changing one item at a time.

In my idea, everything could be changed. Champ base numbers, Item numbers, minion health tower damage tower health, even some items could not work with others (i don't think changing the passives are fair in my example, but statikk shiv wouldn't proc on ranged or recurve bow on melee or w/e)

So if FOR EXAMPLE, Nocturne was broken with botrk and Deathcap for whatever reason, all three components would be changed to address the imbalance.

Well even if they manage to somehow find the magical balance, everytime something new gets released everythings screwed and we get a few weeks before everythings fine again, and by then we get a new champion. The answer to this is of course never releasing anything new to the game ever again, and then the game would just end up becoming stale and boring to play.

Yeah this is all theoretical.

Its mathematically IMPOSSIBLE that this spot of perfect balance doesnt exist.

but its also mathematically impossible to EVER hit that point since everything would have to line up just right. Too many variables.

Interesting!
