Taric the Gem Knight

Abilities

Gemcraft - Passive

Taric's presence will periodically cause gemstones to cover an enemy minion or monster, slowing them up to 60% over the course of 4 seconds. If Taric kills the unit, he deals damage equal to (12 x Champion Level) + (40% of his Armor) magic damage to nearby enemy units and gains 1 permanent boost to his armor. Additionally, killing units affected by Gemcraft grants a single Gem Shard which he can use to purchase Gemcraft Upgrades.

Gemcraft Upgrades - Each upgrade costs 50 Gem Shards and provides bonus effects to his abilities. Taric may only have up to 3 Upgrades per game.

  • Garnet Grid: Up to 2 enemies minions or monster may be affected by Gemcraft at a time.
  • Amethyst Field: Enemy units within the Gem Field of Shattering Strike are slowed by 20%.
  • Aquamarine Guide: Aura Gem now heals Taric and allied champions equal to 12% of Taric's Armor each second.
  • Charged Diamond: Dazzling Shot now pierces through enemy units, dealing 12% less damage for each consecutive hit down to a minimum of 40% and all enemy units struck after the first are stunned for half the duration.
  • Emerald Curse: Killing 3 enemy minions or monster affected by Gemcraft will cause the next target to be affected to be an Enemy Champion.
  • Pearl Guard: Beacon now grants a barrier equal to 20% / 30% / 40% of Taric's Armor to all nearby allied targets for 2 seconds once.
  • Ruby Wall: Shattering Strike now creates an impassable terrain at the end of the cone for 3 seconds.
  • Paralyzing Peridot: Dazzling Shot now stuns the target for 0.6 / 0.7 / 0.8 / 0.9 / 1 seconds every 2 seconds for 4 seconds.
  • Sapphire Binding: Grants 1 Magic Resistance for every 1 Armor gained through his Gemcraft,
  • Opal Drop: Aura Gem now grants Taric and allied champions bonus movement speed equal to 7% of Taric's Armor.
  • Topaz Chain: Killing an enemy unit affected by Gemcraft through his Shattering Strike causes to extend the range by 50.
  • Turquoise Cover: Dazzling Shot now leaves a trail that grants Taric and allied champions on it +20% Tenacity.

Shattering Strike

Taric strikes his hammer, causing sharpened gems to protrude in a cone, dealing 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 / 230 + (75% of Ability Power) magic damage and reducing all enemy champion's armor by 10% / 15% / 20% / 25% / 30% for 6 seconds. The Gem Field persists for 2 seconds, dealing half the damage to all other enemy units that enters the area. An enemy champion can only be damage once (either during the initial hit OR upon entering the field).

Beacon

Drops an Aura Gem that possesses 150 / 250 / 400 / 600 / 850 + (10% of Ability Power) Health and Armor equal to 50% of Taric's Armor. The Aura Gem takes 20% less damage from Magic Attacks and lasts for 7 seconds. While active, grants nearby allied champions bonus Armor equal to 25% of Taric's Armor. May only have 1 Aura Gem active at a time.

Dazzling Shot

Taric focuses all the light into a single gem before firing out in a straight line, dealing 40 / 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 + (40% of Ability Power) magic damage to the first enemy hit and stunning them for 1.2 / 1.4 / 1.6 / 1.8 / 2 seconds.

If fired towards Gem Field radius, it immediately explodes and will stun all enemy units in a much wider cone. If fired towards an Aura Gem, it will immediately explode and stun all enemy units in a radius. Will not deal damage to the Aura Gem.

Radiant Knight - Ultimate

Taric slams the ground with his hammer, dealing 150 / 250 / 350 + (50% of Ability Power) magic damage to all nearby enemy units and empowering himself for 12 seconds. While in Radiant Knight, Gemcraft activates faster and causes Taric's basic attacks against enemy champions whose Armor is lower than his to deal bonus magic damage equal to 30% / 40% / 50% of the difference.

Killing an enemy unit affected by Gemcraft while in Radiant Knight reduces all of his basic abilities cooldown by 2 seconds.

You do know that Taric's rework is basically done right? They just need to finalize the art, model, textures, sound, etc.

They better not touch his sounds... They already screwed up nasus that way

The original voice actor for Nasus was dead, the only way to add new lines or finish Infernal Nasus was to get a new voice actor.

Yea but they didn't have to take his voice away from all skins. That voice was awesome and suited nasus. Now he has a horrible voice and stupid dance...

So, you would rather have Taric keep his 12 lines that he repeats over and over again instead of over 100 new lines and unique dialogue interactions between various other champions in the game? The voice actor for Taric is the same guy who did the old and new Heimerdinger. So it's not like it's going to change much.

Also, have you listened to the old Nasus lately? It does not hold up well.

I will have to go to youtube and relisten to to nasus, it has been a while. There is something to be said for liking something just because you are used to it. There is also something to be said about keeping some things the way they are because they are loved by the community and are an integral part of who they are.

That voice and his pink skin ARE taric. I hate the way Riot cuts away the past carelessly, even nerfing champs into the ground so less people play them to justify it and reduce backlash.

So Yes I would rather keep his old lines that repeat in such an annoying way you mute the game than change it. If they can add more cool but Not take the old ones away. Only compromise I can see is having the pink skin keep the old.

Well, if his look changes to drastically, he will get a traditional skin, like Karma, Sejuani, Gangplank and Trundle and keep his original voice. But, if it is similar enough, he will get the Heimi treatment and mostly just update, keeping most of his lines and probably making a new joke about his old joke
