We felt Ahri was a strong candidate for Academy thematic that we wanted to create.
That said, if we feel a champion fits in well with a theme we're creating, them having a fairly recent skin wouldn't exempt them. For example, we did something similar with Soraka where we released her Reaper skin in October, and then in April, released Order of the Banana because we felt this April Fools' skin fit in really well with the set coming out.
Ahri got 3 skins since im playing this game (almost 1,5 year) while some others nothing...

I guess boobs>wuju... This proofs that Riot focuses more on some champions than others, just look at this thread, 14 posts from Riot member already just about her skin while some champions are totally ignored, maybe thats why shes op as fuck?
Most overloaded kit in the game, nerf-proof, skins in regular rotation, just ffs.
Do yourself a favor Riot and release official Ahri porn if you want quick buck, and maybe give us a list of what champions are main characters in this game and what ones you dont give a fuck about so we dont wase time picking and maining wrong ones.
So Ekko, Gnar, and Rek'Sai got new skins, but Azir's left in the dust.

As an Ahri player, Ahri being my favorite champion - she doesn't need another skin this quickly. Unless she has a pool party skin coming up, she doesn't need one for a long time.
...but if pool party is a possibility...ignore what I just said.
it seems like that Academy skin theme might be a cheap skin set. so i guess its ok. Im kinda ticked that Blitz is getting a new skin. he is getting up there with champs with way too many skins!
Ahri is just one of those girls who likes to own lots of clothes. What can you do?

Well, the Challenger Ahri skin, is kinda (Stretching the word here) like the LCS Team Skins, since it itself doesn't capture an alternate fantasy but more of a event/occasion.
That said, if it is a 750 im gonna cry.
