Karma - The Spirit Weaver (Fan Weapon Rework)

Heavily based off of Temari from Naruto and Karma's old Q and Mantra Q. She no longer has ranged auto attacks and is melee with her basic attacks. This version of Karma promotes her to be more of a in-your-face kind of Battlemage/Support. Karma does basically the same thing with this kit but more streamlined for using her abilities that punish foes and it's kind of along the lines of how she was before, but with a few twists that makes a little more sense for her. I just wanted to take the concept of her fans and really give her a BIG warfan.

The fan is used as a conduit for her powerful abilities as well as a stronger connection to her past lives.

Passive - Gathering Essence - After casting 4 basic abilities, Karma's next Mantra ability is strengthened.

Q - Heavenly Wave: Karma waves her fan, dealing magic damage to units in a cone in front of her.

Mantra Bonus: In addition to dealing damage to enemies, Heavenly Wave will also heal allies in the cone based on a % of their missing life.

W - Inspire: Karma gracefully leaps a short distance to place herself away or near a enemy. Can also be used to place Karma in front of allies to cast Mantra Bonus in front of ally.

Mantra Bonus: Karma waves her fan in front of her and reflects any ability projectiles coming towards an ally or her back at the enemy for increased damage. The projectile moves a little slower so it is easier to dodge.

E - Soul Shield: Karma summons a protective shield that absorbs incoming damage.

Mantra Bonus: Karma waves her fan in front of her and releases a wave of energy that shields allies in it and increases their movement speed. The ability also grants a small burst of movement speed.

If enemies or allies have shields on them prior to casting the Mantra bonus, all shields will explode and damage nearby enemies upon impact of casted Soul Shield Mantra.

R - Mantra: Karma empowers her next basic ability within 8 seconds for an additional effect. Attacking enemies with abilities reduces Mantra's cooldown and attacking enemies with basic attacks reduces it by half.

Hey there Deathfall.

Yeah, I tried something similar a long time ago. A fan wielding champion is really missing from League and I value your effort of getting her back with more of her playstyle revolving around her flappers.

Generally I think you didn't even go far enough. Some things about Karma just didn't fit with a mobile fighter. I think it ought to turn out similar to Irelia (which is quite nice, actually), in that she ought to dance in and out of fights, attack and deflect with her fanweapon and use positioning to her advantage. I think your W tries to do that and I welcome the attempt of replacing the W with something that makes her.... more mobile.

Other than that I would've loved some damage/projectile deflection or maybe even some CC on top of that mobility. You can take a look at my attempt. It too wasn't perfect, but maybe it inspires you to go even further with what you are working on? See it HERE

Hi Deathfall,

I love those fans! They're all very graceful and elegant, adjectives that are synonymous with Karma in this game. I love the suggested/proposed kit idea you have for her. I'd like to think that Karma would still prefer her fans when she takes to the battlefield. It's her signature weapons and something that the world of Runeterra have come to associate with her. Riot just forgot to include them on the final product. As you said yourself, she would use them to boost her magical abilities, strengthening her focus and precision.

I love how you made her into this battlemage champion. I've always envisioned her as a close range fighter who can gracefully maneuver her way in and out of fights. When I first saw reworked Irelia's dance-like animations, I thought to myself that Karma was definitely supposed to be that way, a dancer with fluidity in her movements. I love the interaction for her proposed "E" with other shields, giving us back the shield bomb but only if we meet the criteria, a feature that would prevent it from being oppressive. This gives her a special synergy with champs that have shields while the ability has other uses to still be helpful for the rest of league. I like the deflection ability, something that'll give her a uniqueness factor and makes her a hard counter to poke champs/comps (Cait, Ez, Xerath, Velkoz, etc). My only concern is that this kit lacks CC, something every champion needs in order to be viable in today's meta. Other than that this is a great suggestion :)

(BTW this idea of yours made me think of the potential ideas that could work for Karma when it comes to her regular abilities and mantra-ed ones. I'm already picturing Karma switching between regular magic use and spirit use when she mantras/chants to empower her magic. This could lead to thematic such as mid-range regular abilities vs long range mantra-ed abilities, utility-based regular abilities vs damage boosted mantra-ed abilities, or fan-based regular abilities vs. non-fan based mantra-ed abilities. I'd try to come up with ability ideas for these thematic but I fear I won't be as creative as some of you on here hehe).
