Solrath, the Spirit Plague (Champion Concept)
This is a concept that I've been mulling over in my head for quite some time now. It's based on unique interactions with enemies and allies, and basically is my ideal support. Any feedback would be wonderful.
Base Stats Health 561 – 2074 Attack Damage 48 – 85 Health Regen 6.9 – 16.3 Attack Speed 0.625 (+0% – 59.5%) Mana 274 – 1022 Armor 23.4 – 88.0 Mana Regen 6.0 – 19.6 Magic Res 30.0 Range 400 Mov Speed 340
Passive: Dark Momentum Solrath has no cost assossiated to his basic abilities. Instead, for every second that he possesses an enemy champion, he gains 10 Life Force. Solrath can only gain 30 life force from any one possession. All of Solrath's spells have different effects based upon who he is possessing.
Every time Solrath possesses a target who is in combat, he gains a stack of Dark Momentum. These stacks do not decay and are not lost on death. When Solrath casts any spell while possessing an enemy, all stacks are expended, dealing (7 + 1 per level) true damage per stack to the enemy he is possessing. Dark Momentum can stack 5 times, increasing by 5 for every rank of his ult, for a maximum of 20 stacks.
Q: Possession CD: 5/4.5/4/3.5/3 Solrath flies outwards as a cloud of pure darkness, latching on to the first champion he hits. If Possession hits an enemy, the cooldown is reduced by 50%. While possessing a target, Solrath cannot auto attack or move, and becomes a part of the champion his is possessing, forming a singular target. Solrath remains in this state until Possession is cast again. If possession hits no target, Solrath returns to normal.
On Ally Cast Solrath grants himself and his ally 10/15/20/25/30 armor and magic resist, and when enemies attack the possessed ally, 20/30/40/50/60% of the damage is instead taken by Solrath, using his own armor and magic resist for damage calculation. While Solrath is latched on to an ally, they regenerate 1% of their missing health every second. All forms of crowd control applied to the ally target are also applied to Solrath, but reduced in duration by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20%
On Enemy Cast Solrath envelopes an enemy, reducing their vision by 20% and reducing their movespeed by a flat 50 ms. Solrath amplifies all damage taken by the enemy he is latched onto by 10%, and when members of the enemy team attack Solrath, 10% of the damage goes to the target who he is possessing.
W: Pulse CD: 8/7.5/7/6.5/6 On Ally Possession
Solrath emits a pulse for 300 units outwards. All allies hit, including himself and his possessed ally, recieve a shield for 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 + 5/6/7/8/9% of his bonus health for 2 seconds, and a 40% speed boost that rapidly decays over 1 second.
On Enemy Possession Solrath emits a pulse for 300 units outwards. All enemies hit, including his possessed enemy, recieve magic damage equaling 80/120/160/200/240 + 5/6/7/8/9% of his bonus health and are revealed for 2 seconds.
With no enemies possessed Solrath emits a pulse for 300 units outwards. All All enemies hit recieve magic damage equaling 40/60/80/100/120 +2.5/3/3.5/4/4.5% of his bonus health and are revealed for 2 seconds. All allies hit recieve a shield for 40/55/70/85/100 + +2.5/3/3.5/4/4.5% of his bonus health 2 seconds, and a 20% speed boost that rapidly decays over 1 second.
E: Ennervention CD: 8 seconds Solrath must be possessing a target to cast ennervention On Ally Possession Solrath fires a bolt of slow moving energy, dealing 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 +8% of the target's current health in magic damage and silencing for 1 second the first enemy champion hit.
On Enemy possession Solrath fires a bolt of fast-moving energy, healing 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 / 200 +8% of the target's missing health to the first ally champion hit.
R: Phantasm Cost: 100 Life Force Passive: When Solrath leaves an allied target, he marks them with Rememberence indefinitely. Only one champion can be marked at a time (Solrath can have one ally marked while possessing another, but once he leaves that ally, the mark switches over to the one he left).
Active: On Allied Possession or No Possession Solrath immediately possesses the target marked with Rememberence, regardless of distance, and all of his basic abilites go off of cooldown.
On Enemy Possession Solrath jumps to a target of his choice (this can be the target he is currently possessing). Images of Solrath also will jump to any enemy within a 1050 radius. These images are immortal and indistinguishable from Solrath, but carry a shield equal to 200/400/600 instead of a health bar. Solrath also gains a shield of the same amount, and to his enemies, it replaces his health bar. If Solrath's shield remains intact for 4 seconds, all enemies who have images on them are snared for 2 seconds and dealt the remainder of his sheild's health. If his shield is broken, all images immediately vanish and the effect ends.
Playstyle Solrath is exclusively a support, and would not function well in any other lane. He is dedicated to a pattern of safety VS risk. He can remain on his allies and poke while offering a reasonable increase to their defenses, but if his ally is caught, Solrath will be CC'd and possibly killed along with them. He can also jump to enemies, but this requires care, as he must dedicate himself to being on his enemy for a maximum of 2.5 seconds; enough time to take turret hits or to move considerably out of position, especially against mobile enemies. However, in this form, he is able to dispense a decent amount of damage, and gains access to his only sustain spell. His passive adds a lot of damage, but is extremely difficult to stack to its full potential. His ult is very powerful, but requires him to be completely inactive to maintain the illusion, and can be easily stopped if the enemies figure out who he really jumped to. He is meant to be built as a tank, and much of his playstyle is dedicated to hopping around the battlefield, possessing enemies and allies depending on which is more advantageous.
Lore It is a little known fact that all of the diseases on Runterra actually originate from the void. There was a time when humanity lived without colds, fevers and plagues, but when the void and humanity first touched, it unleashed a hailstorm of infection which spread like wildfire throughout the human race. Some say that this disease has no source, or that it's as natural as water, or sand. But these thoughts are carefully planted and strengthened by the one who controls disease as a man controls his fingers; Solrath, the Spirit Plague.
For most of its existence, Solrath has had no consciousness, no mind. It was as wide as the world, moving from target to target, infecting thousands at a time with maladies and aillments, some so powerful they could kill almost instantly, others weak enough that they would merely cause their victim to sneeze. But as time went on, Solrath possessed a target much different than the rest of humanity; a child gifted of the stars, named Soraka. Unlike Solrath's other victims, she simply healed away his black touch, causing it to flee from her. Solrath's entire essence trembled, and gathered together as one for the first time, preparing to wage war against the powerful healer who had bested him. But before it attacked, Solrath began to feel something. For so long, it had reaped the spirits of its victims, and they, mixed with the healing power Soraka had used, began to form a consciousness in Solrath's mind. For years, Solrath simply waited, pondering, developing its own mind, figuring out its desires, when finally, it emerged once more with a new dedication. Preying on the pitiful masses of mankind was no longer even remotely appealing to Solrath; instead, he wished to prey on the powerful, the mighty, the people like Soraka who could put up a fight. With this dedication in mind, Solrath followed his first enemy to the League of Legends. He was made the promise that he could infect anyone he wished, so long as his infections helped his allies and harmed his enemies. Solrath agreed wholeheartedly, knowing that a disease must bring itself to all of the most powerful people in the world, before it finally, inevitably, strikes the killing blow.
"I am the one enemy you will never be able to fight." -Solrath
