A change to Summoners Rift

Summoners Rift has been more or less the same for a long while now and we can see Riot's attempts at spicing it up with the alcoves and elemental dragon changes, but I don't think it's quite there yet. I think it would be cool to have some more drastic changes, so here's my idea:

Replace Rift herald with a sort of portal area. When you step inside, you are transported to a completely new map, much smaller, but still fairly large (smaller than 3v3). This could be something like a cave that when you walk inside is a sort of Ice age: Dawn of dinosaurs-esque area.

Inside there are many new species of monsters and different things. Perhaps there is a new monster objective that when someone tries taking it, the map rumbles and ferocious roars are heard to players in the summoners rift map to alert people that someone is battling. Maybe this is a good place to re-introduce Vilemaw, the giant spider, as a side objective that gives players bonus health and tankiness as the gift of Vilemaw, a play on his gift of immortality to Elise.

Another option could be a completely overgrown and abandoned forest where trees and bushes are nearly everywhere and monsters like plants and wolves will attack you if you try to enter certain areas, making it a more hostile PVE environment instead of the old "attack when attacked" monsters of the jungle.

Maybe it could be a place guarded by a gatekeeper that you have a chance to defeat for a choice of 5 buffs, you have the choice to give a buff to any one of your teammates, including yourself, but you may only choose one.

Let me know what you guys think or if you have a better suggestion.

The thing about what you're suggesting is that they're not suited for competitive play. They're great for PVE, but when it comes to teams pitting their skills against one another, they fall flat. That's why the Rift has barely changed over the years - it provides a static arena where players can showcase skill against one another.

I like this idea of transforming rift herald into something else. What I think would be really cool is if rift herald was guarding some kind of gate way. What if when you kill rift a portal to the void will open up. This portal would allow players of the team that slayed the rift herald OR the holder of the eye of the herald to navigate the rift in some kind of underground tunnel ways. This could open up really cool and unique gank paths for junglers. Giving junglers more gank potential sounds cancerous I know, but I think this would make the game much more interesting to watch. I would say the kill count of games would have to go up. Current objectives around the map are made to further grab more objectives. It's not interesting watching a team kill a rift herald just to get a tower. But it would be really cool to see how players choose to use the new paths that open up to them if they are holdig the eye of the herald. Or I would rename it the eye of the void.

However, the rift herald was guarding this gate way for a reason. Each time a champion uses this portal for these new path ways it angers Baron Nasher causing his spawn in time to decrease by two minutes each time. Though I feel like this could be purposefully exploited for a snowball effect so maybe instead each time these passages are used that champion becomes a little weaker to Baron. Baron would specifically target this champion and do increased damage to them when trying to slay him. That OR the void can slowly corrupt the champion causing the champion to just simply do much less damage to Baron.

Another cool idea is that somehow slaying rift herald would open up void protals around the map. enter the portal and slay the monsters inside all of the portals and then you and your team can have "void recalls" which is basically just the recall after killing baron. IT IS ONLY A FASTER RECALL. you don't regen your health instantly in fountain, you dont gain more movement speed back to lane, you dont have increased power, you jsut simply have a faster recall for the rest of the game.
