With Aurelion coming out, I wanted to make some fanart in the hopes I'd get into the community creations thingy they do when the new champ is released. I've never gotten to participate before because I had a stupid phone which took really crappy pictures but now with my sparkly new Iphone I can actually take nicer quality pictures of my stuff. One of my all time goals is to get into the community creations for a new champ, and the ultimate goal is to get a fan art feature, so I gotta start posting my stuff XD

Posted my WIP pictures! You can also find them on my tumblr ( dragonbuttcupcakes ). Used Sharpie markers and colored pencils for this, just gotta do their backgrounds and its all done :^)

I think it's cool having the 2 side by side, they are very different yet you can see very faint similarities. Remember folks, Ao Shin never really died, he was transformed and molded into Aurelion

you definitely are talented I think that you will make your goal, you dont even need me to say good luck u got this one in the bag. We all got goals, I hope that we can both reach them. ive been working on a clay bard horn for the past year, it went into the kiln yesterday I think, cross ur fingers for me (i had to rehydrate some dried parts to attach them)

Well, I didn't make it into the feature.

Absolutely NO traditional art did.

Now I'm really really upset right now and I just need to rant so bear with me.

I get that digital art is cool and you can do a lot with it, but how discouraging is it to people who drawn, paint, sculpt, etc when you see absolutely NO traditional art featured. You're lucky to get ONE drawing featured each time. This time, it's all digital.

My goal for one day was to get my stuff out there and get a fan art feature.....I want to give up on that right about now. I put my heart and soul into my drawing. I never color, coloring is a big deal to me. I worked so hard on this. I was so proud of this....and to see absolutely no traditional drawings featured is just so discouraging to me I just want to stop. What is the point when nobody cares about your art because it wasn't done on a computer?

Why can't we have more variety with the art Riot features? It is SO.HARD. to get noticed as a new artist, I don't think you understand. As a new artist, it takes such a LONG time to get your stuff noticed especially if you are a traditional artist. There are amazing artists out there with different ways of creating art. What kind of message do you think it sends when you only focus on 1 type of art?

I'm a new artist here. I've been on tumblr for about a year. I'm lucky to get a reblog on any of my stuff still. A digital painting that gets posted a month after my drawing passes the amount of notes I've accumulated in that month in less than a day. Up until now I've dealt with it, it was discouraging but I've told myself that someday someone will like my stuff. Now I just feel like shit.

Being a new artist and trying to get yourself noticed is such a shitty time and when you only focus on one type of art, it is very discouraging to artists who pour their heart and soul into their traditional art.

This would've been my first time being part of the featured fanart, boy was I wrong to even think I had a shot.

I have no doubt that anyone who actually looks at this will tell me I'm being a whiny baby, but I just need to vent somewhere because it's so godamn discouraging as a new artist to see that nobody gives a shit. Better I just give up now than keep trying and keep upsetting myself.

Also all bumps are appreciated! I'd really like a chance at getting into the fan art feature for Aurelion and it seems like they don't usually use many traditional pieces of art. If you bump I will give you an invisible hug through the wifi XD

I usually don't color my art but damn I'm so happy with how this turned out, I should color my stuff more

Best traditional piece I've seen so far for Aurelion Sol! I was going to do something similar to this digitally, but I ended up doing just a fullbody aurelion sol pic xD I hope you get a feature!

Pretty good pretty good I like the3 coloring a lot did you happen to do it in eitehr water color or pencils? You did his "beard" hair really good, sply keeping all teh strokes going the same way to show flow/movement. Can I see the wip pictures? owo I neeeeeed to see how you did this it's so good!
