@Riot: have you considered creating an actual AP Bruiser champ?
I mean like a bruiser in the sense of "front-liner, auto-attacking champion."
may have her 3 strike passive, but her Q-R chain and high burst damage makes her seem too momentum based to really qualify as a front lining, auto-attacking champion. And she doesn't have sufficient base damages to really go a bruiser build: her bases are pretty bad, and her scalings are pretty good. Thus, she builds lots of AP. (~2 damage items and the rest durability would NOT work well on her.)
Is more of the same, but his AOE CC and poking patterns overtake his bruiser-ish 3 hit passive. I mean, I know an AP "Bruiser" Ekko build works fine, as so does Diana, but... eh.
might work okay with an AP bruiser build, but she's so mangled that basically no build works for her. And even if Elise would get her AP back her patterns are more fitting for an assassin.
There's a difference between a bruiser and a (very) tanky mage, which is what AP Cho-gath plays like as he's mostly reliant on his abilities much like a standard mage.
Okay, she can work well as an ap bruiser. But even so, her passive is still an AP assassin passive, as Evelynn used to be. And she's not really a frontliner or initiator. (Usually a surprise initiator rather than the initiator.)
...Okay, I guess so. But he's still bursty based.
See Cho-gath. And honestly a lot of Gragas's I've seen build full damage.
... Okay, at this point, I think you get the idea. Basically, is Riot working on/considering working on an AP bruiser champion? That is, a champ who is a frontliner, deals consistent DPS, and who's optimal build would contain ~2 durability items, ~2 damage items, etc. I mean, it just seems like a waste of potential to consider it, and Riot's really been up to adding more AP bruiser itemization like with the reworked
.
