Why doesn't a skin over 975 RP have a special recall animation? Give the little yordle some love!

Dragon Tamer Lulu was one of the first two 1350 skins ever released, the other being Mecha Kha'Zix. At that time, recall animations were not yet a part of the design process. The one that bugs me most is Pool Party Ziggs. He's the only Pool Party skin with no recall animation, despite 3 of them being a lower price tier than he is.

Honestly, I think the reason I'm so bothered by skin-tiers & pricing is because of things like this.

There are problem-spots all over the place, makes you feel like you paid more for less or something not equal.

I think some retroactive adjustments to skins like this one are called for.

As other have said, recall animations weren't added in as a feature for 975 RP+ skins, or for champions until after this skin was released. This was before we had more clearly defined price tiers, and the kinds of bells and whistles each tier would have.

So if she were to receive a Visual Update, would the skin be retroactively given a recall animation? (One idea I'd like to see is for her to make Dragon-Pix bigger, so she can ride him for the recall).

For someone like Sion, we'd given his skins the same recall that his base uses.

Hmm... kind of skimming through Sion's skins, and none of them are over 975, so I'm not sure if it's the best example.

Off the top of my head (I could be wrong), I can't think of any relatively recent VU's where they had a skin priced at 1350+, so maybe there's just not a precedent yet?

It's possible that's the reason. Ultimately, this would be something left to the Champion Update team to decide if/when the time comes. :]

Can she be priced down then? Being in such a high tier, that skin should retroactively be given a new recall animation or be marked down.

It still took the amount of work that back then qualified it to be a 1350 tier. I honestly think it still qualifies; Pix's animations are pretty much 100% redone for that skin, and all of the particles for the skin are changed as well, though the colors are fairly similar.

Figured I'd hop in and give a bit of clarification here.

Dragon Trainer Lulu was the first 1350 RP skin. This was also before spring of 2013, when we more clearly defined the kinds of things that made each skin x tier.

Her old skins had:

Slightly new look for Pix
Model change
New particle on enemy W

Dragon Trainer Lulu has:

New model for Lulu, Pix and polymorphed enemies.
New particles for her abilities and auto-attacks.
New animations for Pix when using emotes, Glitterlance and auto-attacks.
New sound for Whimsy.

While it's not the exact kind of quality we'd except for a 1350 RP skin today, it does fit the mold fairly well.

1350 RP skins today have:

Features: new model, new texture, new splash image, new animations, new visual effects, new sounds. Sometimes includes: processed voice overs.

We don't be giving her a recall, nor marking her down in price at this time.

Recall animations for 1350 and above didn't really start happening till Riot reformatted their design process. It's just like how if you look at legendary skins like Ice Toboggan Corki, Alien Invader Heimerdinger, The Magnificent Twisted Fate, ect.. they have no recalls, no new particles, No new voice over but are still classed as Legendary.

Really doubt they will ever go back over most of the skins and add anything special unfortunately. Only exception is when they give a champion a visual update have they begun to add smaller updates to some of these skins, i.e Firefighter Tristana now has unique particles.
