[Champion Concept] How to bring Rubick in league of legends
Hi everyone i'm writing this thread mainly for fun as i tried to imagine how to bring in league in a healthy version, my favorite and longtime main in dota2: Rubick the grand magus
But first, let's talk about Rubick himself, then we will get to the interesting point
For those who do not know Rubick is a support in dota2 able to steal the last spell cast by a target, and improve it by casting the spell instantly without cast time,giving him versatility. His ultimate is technically every single active spell in dota2 other than that his kit is quite simple to balance him around Spellsteal: Q: telekinesis, a point and click stun W: fade bolt: a point and click nuke that reduces AD to give some utility E: null field: a magic resistance buff Aura for his team R: spellsteal Rubick's theme is the "grand magus", in theory he's able to surpass any magus in the game by: -stealing a spell AND CASTING IT INSTANTLY unlike his oppenent -reducing the power of the enemy's version of spell due to his magic resistance aura

While Rubick can be picked in almost every game, there are spells that you do not want to steal (Hello, Darkness), his true power is revealed against, heavy magic damage teams, and channeling spells heroes. Rubick is the ultimate counter to enigma(an other hero in dota2) who's ult is a channeled AOE stun. If you follow the logic of spellsteal, while channeling a spell someone cannot cast an other spell, giving Rubick the free time to steal the channeled spell which can lead to a deadly counterpick
**How to bring a healthy version of Rubick ** Because obviously, the original kit would have issues with league
First of all: we need a theme, while the grand magus theme is interesting i want to create my own spellstealer Let's call the champion Salyr tribute to Sylar in Heroes, a character that i also love able to steal spells and lift people with telekinesis, just like Rubick!
but Salyr being a tribute to Sylar is for a good reason
i want Salyr to be much like him: a serial killer who's only goal is to hunt mages in runettera to steal their knowledge
his ingame gameplay will reflect this: he would be a catcher much like
, try to pick off targets and steal their knowledge!
first this would mean that he wouldn't get a magic resistance aura, or the "instant cast stolen spells" thing Second, his base kit would actually be kind of weak compared to other supports, as he would be balanced around Spellsteal
class: i would say he's an agressive support that are often called "supports" in league, kind of like 
Auto-attack range: 550 stats: don't think it's relevant to talk about them, i would say they're normal for a ranged champion
Passive: Slayer of the Mages: Salyr hunts the magical knowledge across runeterra. he passively builds stacks of Slayer of the Mages while moving out of combat Once he reaches 100 stacks, his next auto-attack will have 100 bonus range and deal bonus magic damage while slowing the target for short duration entering in combat will reset all stacks
Q: Telekinesis: Salyr uses his telekinetic powers to lift the enemy into the air briefly and then put them down in a selected location. The unit lands on the ground with such force that it stuns nearby enemies.
notes: -the range of this spell will be of course limited, it would be on lulu's polymorph level if not slightly smaller -the targeted stun would be weaker than the AOE stun around the target, something like 0.75---->1..25 sec, while the aoe stun is 1.25---->1.75, the reason is quite simple: it would reward players trying to stun with a minion instead of simply using a point and click spell, while the secondary stun has more counterplay -the cooldown of this spell will be EXTREMELY HIGH, something like 25 sec at all ranks. the reason is quite simple, this kit needs to be weak to be balanced around the ult that steals a spell
W: mortal infliction: Salyr uses his telekinetic power to throw sharp weapons in front of him, dealing magic damage to the first target he hits. If the target is a champion, they suffer X% bonus damage from all sources for 2 seconds
E: Malevolent celerity : Salyr uses his power to gain a burst of speed for a short duration. At the end of the duration, the power is released and increases nearby allies's movement speed by half of the amount
R: SUPREME Knowledge: salyr reads into the mind of the selected champion, stealing his knowledge. For X/Y/Z seconds or until he dies, Salyr is able to use the last spell cast by the target as its own
Note: the cooldown would be something like 20/19/18 sec for those who are wondering, he would use a magical weapon that can take the shape of any weapon, gun, axe, or sword, to reproduce spells like Darius Q or caitlyn's ultimate
that's it, this is how i imagine my version of Rubick in league of legends!
would be in constant war with each other since they both kill people to steal there knowledge so only one of them would ever know something and the other would hate them for it.
