What if... we had a support... that could do this?

Void support:

(Here's what I need the community to do; find a name for this guy, please...)

We already have a assassin, tank, mage, marksman, and recently a fighter. Now, all that's left is a support.

This guy (or girl) will come to our world seeking a place of rest.

Lore:

Coming to this world, its been hard on me. The daylight never ceases nor do I find a home in this world. People fear me, and I have yet to find a way back to my peaceful home. I sleep in the waters off the shore of a battle worn home land filled with loud obnoxious ruffians who never desist of their constant bickering. I lay in wait.

Cannons continued, and I couldn't hold myself, I came to the surface intending to destroy those responsible, but all that was left was debris and blood. Off in the distance, I heard them yell, "MONSTER!!" and I could see them flee. I grew tired of this place. I dwelt in a river, secluded in the mountains for a time. I could feel the harmony around me, taking me in with every breath. Soon, my eyes closed to the sweet bliss of dreams.

Awoken, I heard paddles of footsteps. Constant footsteps. I came up to see what was happening to witness yet another battle being waged. I moved on yet again.

Again and again this continued for a month, it was though, until I came to a place where water flowed down stream from a waterfall that stretched as high as the heavens. I traveled up the waterfall and located a place of mystery up there. I rested, melded with the stream, when yet again I heard the fighting arise. The sounds of shooting, and clangs of swords against armor. I looked up to see what was happening yet again, to see Kog'Maw for the first time in a long time. How he'd gotten up there was a mystery to me. But, he was being chased by the gunner and his allies.

I arose from the water, their faces in shock, and pushed them back with a flick of my tail. It wasn't but a minute after that I was taken from the mountain top to a dark place. They asked who I was and where I was from, I told them I came from the Void and had no interest in the world I was in but wanted the peace to rest. With happy faces, they promised if I would help with fights in the battles, I would be granted all the freedom to a peaceful place to sleep when possible.

Stats:

Health: 490 (+49 per level) Health regen: 5 (+0.8 per level) Attack: 54 (+14 per level) Attack Speed: 0.645 (+3% per level) Armor: 32 (+4 per level) Magic Resist: 28 (+2 per level) Movement Speed: 340

[P] Hydrated: He turns every 100 bonus health into +1 health regen for both him and nearby allies.

[Q] Hydroplane: He creates a long line of water that gives him and allies a 10/20/30/40/50% boost in movement speed and slows enemies by the same amount. Enemies hit when first activated will be dealt 20/40/60/80/100 (+60% AP) damage. Cost: 10/20/30/40/50 health Cool Down: 7 seconds Range: 800

[W] Replenish: He will sacrifice some of his health to restore some for an ally. Ally gains back 50/100/150/200/250 (+50%AP). Cost: 5% HP Cool Down: 16/14/12/10/8 seconds Range: 950

[E] Deteriorate: Passive Each attack he uses on an enemy will diminish their armor and magic resist by 2/4/6/8/10 per shot (stacks up to 5 times). Stacks wear off after 4 seconds if no continued hits.

[R] Evaporate: He becomes a shield for a nearby champion or snares a enemy champion to deal some damage. If on an ally; he will shield them from 200/400/600 (+90% AP) (+6/8/10% health) damage for 4/5/6 seconds, if on an enemy, they will be dealt 100/200/300 (+45% AP) and be snared for 3/4/5 seconds. He will not be hurt if shot at while shield is up, if shield is used up he will just hop off the ally. He can still be damaged by enemies when snaring an enemy so be careful where you snare. Cost: 6/8/10% health Cool Down: 80/70/60 seconds Range: 850

His basic attacks will be him shooting water from his mouth, not spit (or maybe yes... but hey, just think its water).

Playing as:

– Make sure to stay with an ally in team fights to make sure to use your ultimate properly. – Build as much tank as you can.

Playing against:

– Try to get armor pen, and make sure to target the ally instead of the support. – Group up and target him when you can since he will be using health for all his abilities.

Plays well with:

Zac due to this guys tankiness, him having a healer who can grant speed and armor + magic resist will allow this bruiser to quickly out match other champs quickly. Teemo this little demon has his own passive that grants some nice bonus magic damaging poison. This with the supports passive will be unbelievably crazy. That with both of their speed boosts means quicker dodging and catching of enemies. Twitch the fact that his passive can allow Twitch's passive to be even better makes it all the better. He allows Twitch to get in close range with no worry since he can ult Twitch if things get bad or the enemy.

Struggles against:

Vladimir Vladimir can collect enough HP from this champion with all of his abilities and spell vamp. Morgana Landing a snare on him from afar and taking damage away in time will do more damage than you may think. Morgana has everything needed to go against this champ. KogMaw Do to his W, Kog'Maw can easily overpower him, no matter how much health he has.

Lines:

Joke: Lays on the ground and dozes off. "Is it time for bed already?" "I'm tired. Yawn. Goodnight." "You make me sleepy." Kog'Maw "Eating too much just makes you tired.' Cho'Gath "We really need to catch up." Kha'Zix "Ah, the crickets are out." Vel'Koz "How can you work without sleep?" Rek'Sai "I too want to burrow in the ground." Kassadin "You're too noisy." Malzahar "One voidling, two voidling, three voidling..."

Taunt: Opens his mouth wide, then shuts it quickly. "Want to come inside? SNAP!" "Come into my cave of wanders. SNAP!" "Do you see anything in there? NOPE!" Cassiopia "You are a beauty. HA, nope!" "Take a look at a real snake. SNAP!" Brand "You're on fire, get in my mouth? Oh!" Skarner "Look at a real predator. SNAP!"

Dance: Coils up and shakes his head back and forth to the beat of Rawhide!

Laugh: (You know...)

When walking (slithering): "I hope this ends quickly." "Lets try this way. "Almost there." "I'm too tired for this."

Skins:

Inferno ???

I also wanted the name Ide'Bah, but I don't really know...

I wish the new champion lore was as good as what I just read.

I mean damn.

Thanks, I honestly just thought it up on the spot.

the idea for this seems really cool but maybe tune down some of the base damages if you intend them for a support role

Rew7111 votes

Okay, on it.

Done, side notes bellow:

The Q was the only one I saw unfair. Its 80% AP bonus damage but it still only goes up to 100 base damage so it shouldn't be reduced too low. His W heals allies. His E just takes away armor and magic resist, so no bonus AP or bonus damage added. And since his R will cost some health, I thought dealing an average 100 (level up) 200 (level up) 300 damage (+45% AP) was fair... Thresh deals 550 damage, easily. The bonus health in the % is for when he shields. Since I don't want his shield to beat Shen's if he ever supports, I do want this support to shield a lot. Should it cost health?

Only problem is Void champions all have an insatiable hunger. Vel's hunger is for knowledge but it's still there.

Hunger for rest (Sorry if replied as further down, just started scrolling)

I wasn't even thinking of this when I made him, I'm glad I found something he obsessed over... This would had been awkward.

So I like this idea but isn't Braum the support champion even though he's not so recent.

UltimateMasterAJ1 votes

And there's Bard

Rew7111 votes

Nope, Tahm Kench is the recent support champion. But even with Tahm, there's only 12 Riot Certified support champions. I was shocked when I saw Blitzcrank's secondary didn't even say support and that Leona was a Tank and her secondary was Support.

What do you mean THE support champ? Braum isnt from the Void

UltimateMasterAJ1 votes

Clearly you didn't read it right I said Braum was a support champ I never said he was from the void

I like the idea of the champion its really creative, but as someone else stated what's his hunger for? Is it just sleep? Does he just hunger for the sleep he wants to get constantly.

The idea is pretty cool I actually have never seen a support that doesn't use mana but still the abilities are good but they are more OP than a Katarina+Ekko and a whole lot more still it's a great idea

Flat armor reduction on a support is way too OP in lane. That will amplify any damage the enemy takes from minions and tower, as well as your own ADC. Because he is ranged, it makes it that much less risky to capitalize on out-trading the enemies. Q and W seem to be re-used and mashed-up ideas from Kog'Maw/Galio and Soraka/Zac, respectively. RIOT's champ dev team will likely view this poorly, as it is not a unique mechanic. I'm fine with it, but RIOT has made a point to put unique mechanics in their new champions, or some other unique aspect that changes the playing field. Like, Gnar isn't very unique, mechanically, except for his ult and his double-bounce, which are merely extensions of basic ideas, but his passive is the unique game-changing feature.

I really like the ult, but RIOT's dev team is going to have problems with the nature of the shield variant. Giving control of your champion to another player for 6 seconds, and making it so you cannot cast your own spells or cancel your ult, will seem like you're gimping your champ. In a team fight, or skirmish, this is 6 seconds you're effectively not doing anything. Assuming that you abuse the AP scaling and provide a 1300 health shield to another ally, RIOT will likely have issues with the fact that your champion is unkillable during this time. This is basically a win-win situation for any champion combination in any fight. The absence of risk makes this ult very broken, yet the inability to act during the ult could conversely make it very gimped. If a player cannot use their ult to surprise the enemies, or use some other mechanical aspect of the game (positioning, timing) to surprise/outplay enemies, then the ult can be considered anti-fun and possessing no counterplay, since the user cannot be punished for using it.

It's honestly not my decision what they put into a character. I just leave the ideas for others to read. The thing, about the armor reduction is that it is not the most OP in the world. Near the bottom of the kit, when I said he was ranged, I forgot to mention one thing (honestly), he has only a 600 range to fire his basic attacks. Also, I don't know, even if they kept the passive, the force to wait 4 seconds until it wears off and may make it 2 seconds or so. I did think of Kog'Maw when making the Q, and when I made the W, I already knew that Zac and Soraka used their health for abilities (Soraka being one to heal for it). But, I also remembered Nocturne for the Q, since he also had a speed boost. I took into account that Soraka was known for her large heals and added a long timer to this one's heal to stop it. Soraka still heals for just roughly around the same as mine, but with a lower cool down for more heals when needed.

Try to think of this Void champs ultimate like Shen's, only this champ with be some large bubble with a shield bar above it. As an ultimate, this should be something a little OP. At level 6, with just 200 shield + possibly 100 AP (or +90) + 44.1 from health bonus for a total of 334.1 (or more) worth of shield. This is a large shield that my ADC can use to block a gank and escape or turn around a losing fight. His inability to fight makes it fair for others, why should he still be able to give a speed boost and heal or reduce armor and magic resist with protected by a large shield? In late game, he could possibly have over 3000 health, meaning that his ultimate will give a 600 + around maybe 200 AP (+180) + 8% health (+240) = 1020 worth of a shield. We could be vs Veigar and block like 2/3 of his ultimate. I don't think the ability to use abilities is fair... But thanks though. I've also seen that they might even want to take up this challenge as they just got done with Tahm Kench who eats the opponent or ally as a support. (Its actually fun.)

I do see the inspiration for the ultimate from Shen, and I do get that because it's a close range skill the shield should be huge. On the other hand, this champ should be capable of cancelling if desired. The possibility of suppressing an enemy or shielding an ally is a nice touch, but consider a giant snake coiling around your adc. Now think: how can I make this more involved? Shen's ult has a lower shield, but the real utility comes from bringing another ally into a teamfight, not just the shield. What extra utility can coiling around an ally bring to a fight? How about if this champ could still cast his Q while coiled, on a reduced cooldown, or continually applied the Q effect on the ground around his target? It wouldn't be too OP, because he wouldn't have access to heals or basic attacks, but he could at least stay relevant, which leads to more fun gameplay. Another thing: if you want an incentive to build tank, bring down some of his AP ratios and potentially bring up some health ratios. The passive and ult are the only things scaling off health, and a 90% AP ratio is pretty big for a tanky heal support. It could potentially grant an ally up to around 1500 shield, which is RIDICULOUS. Well, whatever, I'm not a numbers guy. Fun concept and well executed so far. Keep on improving!

Replenish IS Soraka's heal, also the scaling on his ult is pretty op. Other than that seems like a cool idea.

I'd say that mechanically he's decently balanced. On the other hand, I find difficulty in seeing how his lore relates to his gameplay. He's a serene, peaceful guy, so i guess that's what all the heals and passive regen are for. On the other hand, how does his E (which is only a passive, irritatingly enough) relate to his desire for slumber? Is it just to make him more void-y? It seems useless and kind of disappointing that the guy who desires only sleep has to auto attack constantly in a fight to keep his damage up. I like his water theme, as its another element associated with serenity, but it kind of makes him seem closer to some Bilgewater environment than the void. And why the Galio-esque speed up? I understand the slowing field, because it makes sense for a character associated with Sloth, but why not incorporate more permaslows in his kit rather than low gameplay, passive debuffs and buffs? How about this for an E: He creates a large bubble of sleep inducing around him, slowing any enemies that walk through the area. Once the bubble pops enemies are shocked awake, silencing and blinding them for a brief duration. He can pop the bubble prematurely by striking it with his Q. Does that fit with the water and sleep themes? ALSO, for a champion name I came up with the worst possible pun I could think of: Lah'zhee. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA GEDDIT I really do like the champ concept that you came up with, and hope you continue to improve it in the future :) Reviewer, away!summoner 4
