I agree. Having the helmet fits in better with the Valkyrie theme.
Without the sickle it looks like syndra a bit >.< But I like that art much better than the one without the helmet!
wait what? Diana has never had a helmet o.O and no, that skin splash looks nothing like syndra...at all... oo aaa...theyre wearing purple and are "dark"ish that must totally mean they look alike :D
I hope they don't put it back. I rather like this skin as it is and can't say I care for the helmet.

Bump. This just simply needs to happen, this was one of the best skins in the game prior to her helmet removal. The new skin is OK at best, but her head just doesn't flow with the overall look anymore. Praise the moon!

Personally I like her without it. Looking at that image with it she just looks too odd.

That'd be a wrong comparison, one would have to compare in-game models and specifically the silhouettes+defining features of each.
