Fiora is one of the biggest egos in the league - why would she wear such a bland outfit?

Okay, so I see where Riot was going here, as her now clothes pretty much resemble the classical duelist/fancing attire. And i guess it makes sense when you reduce Fiora's identity to "being a duelist". But isn't the main point of her character, that is emphasized both in her lore and in her voice acting, how prideful and arrogant she is? Her ego is so big it might only be second to Draven. And yet Riot decided to switch out her adorned armor for a comparatively bland duelist attire.

I mean really, Fiora strikes me as the kind of person that wants to look "glorious" and would reject wearing a boring white one-piece with black pants. She would turn up even to a duel in the silver boots and the shining armor with the gold adornments, no matter if it hinders her movements. And I think that's what makes her fun and interesting as a character. Unfortunately, her new clothes reallly take away from that part of her identity.

Congratulations you have a better understanding and put more thought into this then the VU team.

actually I think they kept that because of the large cape. you see in a battle having that is a massive piece of literal useless that can get you killed, and she has it there flaunting the enemy the whole time, as though she were saying "Come and get a piece, you little bitch" the large pauldrons also add to the effect, note that they tilt towards her head, a solid swing there would pretty much mean decapitation, but she has them, which is her practically saying "You couldn't even beat me If I was helping you."

The new breastplate is actually better designed, the brighter colors are nicer, I miss the red hair I'll admit, and the splash needs some adjustments, but this is overall a good change.

She's still wearing armor. Seems a lot like the "glorious" shining armor with gold adornments is what her new outfit has. It's funny because you're arguing against it, but your words and their design match up pretty well.

Well, she IS the GRAND duelist. Her ego and cockiness is second only to draven in my mind.

It is a boring outfit. Hell, there was more detail on her outfit on the concept drawing. And that pointy shoulderpad, wtf

to be honest I like the way her concept art looks. It's elegant and showy. But the in game model leaves a bit to be desired.

I feel like I am the only one not getting the joke. For me it seems like the VU fits exactly the part of her personality that you pointed out. Instead of functional armor she has golden and useless armor parts everywhere - just take a look at her rapier (is that the right word? 'Degen' has 2 english translations so I'm not really sure..) - it's so golden and overly large that it is obviously the weapon of an arrogant person. If they now fixed her hair and the splash I think the VU would be good2go.

You forget that Fioras ego has nothing to do with her appearance, her ego comes from defeating her enemies in a proper and fair duel.

Her putting on stuff that actually hinders her movement? Not gonna happen, she can't and won't risk loosing because of something petty as that.

Her having a rather "blant" uniform actually emphasizes this. there isn't anything hidden in her attire, she doesn't wear something that gives her some kint of advantage, she just wears regular dueling clothes and still kicks your butt.

Also you act like her outfit doesn't have anything besides her pants and shirt, but you forget that her shoulder armor is actually pretty much pimped out, same goes for her sword which has now a golden hilt.

I'd have to disagree, I don't really see how her old outfit was any more "glorious", if anything the amounts of black and grey make it much more subdued. While the new VU isn't perfect, the big gold shoulders and all around much brighter palette make her outfit much more flashy and noticeable.

But that's just me, and we also don't know what traditional attire in the "dueling scene" even looks like. Maybe it is generic or maybe it's fancy comparatively, there isn't much info on the field Fiora's in.
