Mikael's Rework
So, some discussion was brought up by Riot about changing Mikael's because it required too much communication and other nuances to be used effectively. In essence, the item frees someone from CC and in my experience is easiest/best used as an anti-pick tool against champions with blatantly obvious and impactful CC that normally starts a fight:
Q
R
E
E ....... stuff like that
You run into a huge issue with clarity when your ADC runs cleanse or picks up QSS / Mercurial Scimitar though, things that are ideal against these champions. So, in the end I would just suggest making Mikael's a sort of counterpart to Knight's Vow but for Enchanters, something that gives a similar feeling without quite the hassle.
UNIQUE PASSIVE - PARTNER: If your Partner is nearby, gain 20 magic resistance, and 15% bonus movement speed while moving toward them. UNIQUE PASSIVE: Being within 1000 range of your partner and out of combat for 2.5 seconds grants you and your Partner each spell shields. If you or your Partner would be affected by a stun, root, taunt, fear, charm, silence, or slow, the spell shield is broken on both of you and you each gain immunity to those effects for 0.25 seconds. The shield has a 120 second cooldown regardless of if you change Partners or not and lingers for 3 seconds after leaving your Partner's side.
UNIQUE ACTIVE: Designate an allied champion within 1000 range as your Partner (90 second cooldown).
I know it's not really the same as Mikael's current active, but it would at least kind of retain the concept behind the item I think. You would be more limited in who you bond with and who you can shield, but it should take a lot of the guesswork and timing out of the item, and it would provide enemies with a heads up, which encourages counter-play. And yes, I know that getting the timing right is part of the skill behind being skillful, but as someone who is perfectly able to time hitting people coming out of Zhonya's 9/10 times and such, I still think Mikael's is just really hard to use.
