@Riot: Please tell me that Sion will keep his Ahhhnuld voice in his rework.

Argh. I typed up a post about this, then got a 404 when I hit submit. How is that even … whatever. Writing it again.

I know that you're doing a Sion rework. Past experience tells me that this will include not only a gameplay rework but also a visual upgrade and, presumably, new voicework. Fair enough: he doesn't have that many lines, and it'd be fun to give him some interactions with other Champions.

What I really want to know, though, is whether or not he's going to be keeping his Ahhhnuld impression.

I think you should keep it. It's a fun example of the cartoony style that makes LoL distinctive, compared to the bajillion eminently forgettable dark-and-gritty fantasy worlds out there. Now, I've got nothing against dark-and-gritty characters, or even against having lots of them. Darius is a good example: he's a growly axe-wielding Noxian badass with spiky armor. He's pretty much played straight. That's awesome. But I think it's also fun to have Sion as a monstrously goofy variant of that archetype, a punmaking action hero brute with an enormous axe. I understand that there will always be some people who only want to play characters who are Super Serious. But I like the fact that LoL has some derpier options available when we're (forgive us) not feeling all that dark and gritty. Gnar's release gives me hope that someone at Riot still believes in having some fun once in a while.

While I'm at it, I'd also like for him to keep the "who is your Summonah, and what does he do?!" line. You've already openly stated that the game is without connection to the whimsical lore adventures the Narrative team has embarked upon, other than a shared cast of characters. Fine. Whatever. But seeing as that's the case, what's the harm in letting us be Summoners from the League of Legends, at least while we're playing League of Legends on Summoner's Rift?

Okay, okay. I know. Not a chance of that. You'll delete the Summoner reference, just like you'll pretty soon have Sona saying Only you can hear me, BLUE TEAM PLAYER #5. Just like you'll be renaming Summoner Spells to Monster Energy™ LCS Playmaker xTreme eSports Action Boosts. Just like you'll be changing Summoner's Rift to Staples eSports Extreme Electronic Sports Digital Combat Battle Sport World Tournament Sports Sportfield or something. Just like pretty soon dubstep will be built into the client. I'm attempting to make myself as jaded and cynical as possible in advance, so that when that day comes I won't even feel it.

But can we at least keep Sion's Ahnuld impression? Or are you going to change him to dark growly male voice with generic echo filter #19?

Oh, who am I kidding. Of course we're going to get dark growly male voice with generic echo filter #19.

But let the record show I tried, okay?

Its not a rework - its an complete overhaul. It means that Sion will receive a complete new appearance, origin, lore, abilities (but some core elements like +HP for slain enemy will stay) and voice.

I would like to keep Sion being more distant and cold for the undead he is - but several quotes being silly as it is now with Arnold Schwarzenegger's accent. Similiar to Heimerdinger now, who can switch to "swag-walk" and normal.

There was talk about this specific thing in the Sion Relaunch megathread a while back. While there were no promises about keeping it as a default there was talk about keeping it in a traditional skin for him at the very least. Granted this was a while back and things are always prone to change.

Oh no, please, if they change his Arnold character, Sion will be ruined xD

Yeah, I think they should keep his voice and personality as-is. After all, if I'm not mistaken, he's supposed to be the ultimate Noxian warrior in his relaunch, and thus, he should be able to be casual and calm even in heated combat, as he has mastered his rage and knows to only use it in his strikes, rather than his demeanor.

Though I do think some of his lines need to be rewritten, because "Get on my choppah!" is forced and dumb.

Depends on what the make him, right now he's an undead warrior with all the skills of an undead mage.

If they make him an undead warrior with an undead warriors kit then there's no reason the voice wouldn't still fit.

If they keep the kit and make him an undead mage, the voice doesn't really match at all.
