Rayona (The Poisonous Ally)

Role: Support

"If I'm not welcome in Bandle City, I'll have to make my own way in Zaun." ~ Rayona

Short Bio:

"Rayona is an innocent yordle. She never chose the life that was written for her. However, because of her parents being criminals of Bandle city, Rayona has been shunned from her homeland for the fear that she too would follow in her parents footsteps. After years of following the path of the Plague Rodent, Twitch, she has found a way to use chemically infused weapons at her own advantage.

Years after dwelling in Zaun, she meets a young and ambitious Yordle named Tristana. Rayona had mixed feelings of the quirky Yordle, but now she aspires to make every land a fair land. She lives to prove that blood and justice do not coincide."

Rayona's Kit

Passive Noxious Pay Out Rayona's healing to allies and poison to enemies increases as she earns gold. She gains a (5%/9%/18%/25%/45%) boost for every 3000 gold she earns.

Her ultimate is also designated at level 1 to an Ally of her choice. However, she does not gain the ability to choose a different ally.

_Q _ Antidote Rayona injects a cleanse-like antidote for status affects to her, or an ally, including poisons, blinds, burns, and silences. This ability does not remove summoner spells (Ignite or Exhaust). This also boosts the allies healing overtime by (5%), increasing upon passive. Once she has leveled this spell 3 times, she gains the ability to use her antidote on enemies, decreasing the allies attack damage or ability power by (5%), increasing upon passive.

W Hazardous Barrier Rayona creates a stationary barrier in from of her. If she clicks on an ally, the barrier will bounce from her to an ally and land in front of the ally. If an enemy walks through the barrier, they are poisoned by (20%) poision, increasing upon passive. This barrier can be jumped over and projects can go through this barrier. This barrier does have a radius it can be placed around Rayona, but has selected placement if it is placed in front of an ally.

E Hazardous Explosives Rayona tosses 3 explosive bombs outward in a cone, exploding on impact and damaging the enemy by (10/15/30/35/60 ability power). This ability does not poison the enemy but does create a temporary obstacle on the ground the blocks an enemies path.

R Mirage Rayona throws a cask on the ground underneath her. If her selected ally is nearby, they both are affected by mirage. Both her and the ally become invisible for 2 seconds but are silenced. The enemy will only see an increase of the fog of war on the map. Once the enemy clears the fog of war through movement, a decoy of Rayona and her ally are left behind in their taunt poses. The enemy can attack them but the real Rayona and ally receive no damage. Once the decoys disappear, either by time or the enemy, a gas erupts from the decoys, dealing (30% ability Power).

I hope you like my champion design! Let me know what you think! And if Riot wants to totally steal my idea, I absolutely would not mind at all! We need a female who uses chemical based weapons in Zaun and still don't have one, AND we need a new Yordle to add to the lineup so I think she would fit well in league!

Character Design

I totally agree that we need a female champion from Zaun related to Chemtech, it is clearly a niche we are lacking. However, there are 2 things I don't really agree with here.

  1. The champion uses mostly thrown flasks and poison. That is already Singeds shtick and I see this a bit doubling up here.
  2. The champion is a Yordle. While we might need another female Yordle, I don't think it should at the same time be the new Chemtech female. Such a champion should be Chemtech augmented and scary looking. Yordles tend more to look cute, supported by your picture.

That's just my personal opinion, tho. I would just prefer the next champion from Zaun being a scary looking, Chemtech augmented, human chembaroness.

Why exactly did she meet up with Twitch, btw? He doesn't seem very social, he is probably better left alone. Maybe she could be friends with Zac, since she wants to become good too?

Gameplay

Looking at the general gameplay, it seems that you intended to create a new support here. But there is something contradicting it: the passive.

Everything in her kit screams support, except the passive, since it scales with gold income, 3000 per stage. On the role with the least gold income in the entire game. This seems weird. You should consider changing that mechanic (if my assumption that you intend her as a support). Maybe it could scale with assists instead?

I like the ultimate, giving stealth to yourself and an ally was something I tinkered with in an own champion concept and I see a niche to take here. The other spells seem pretty basic, I just think it is a bit sad that there no real combos in the kit. Everything is a standalone skill, nothing that makes you think "yeah, if I combine that skill with this, that is some nasty synergy".

In general, I think the kit could need some improvement. Hope you keep working on it, there are some interesting ideas in it.

with the ult. wouldnt 2 champs taunting, while your champ is in the match,(which will be known for the 2 champs taunting)give it away that they are fakes.

Okay, (5%/9%/18%/25%/45%) boost for every 3000 gold she earns is too high all the way around. An average game only yeilds about 9k, so this passive would rarely see it's third rank if that. I would suggest something more like (6%/12%/18%/24%/30%) boost for every 1200 gold she earns. That way you are still reaching 18%, only much faster and having a lower cap as a result.

Also, while a Q which heals over time is a great idea, I think you are going to have to give it some love and scale the healing percentage upwards with each rank. I was wondering, too, if this heal would be a ranged ability or a touch ability, because it seems like it is meant to be a touch ability (and I hope it is).

As far as your W goes, it feels to be like you should turn your barrier into a slowing poison field, as the ability to click an ally and have it cast in front of them is nice, and a poison field would be more useful to aid your ADC. That way you leave the majority of damage up to your ADC, while still creating an ability that can be used to help them escape if they are being threatened with a gank or trying to secure a kill. I also see it having potential play in turret dives, as you could cast it on an ally in the turret range without the turret attacking them if they are no in player combat.

With the E, I think what you are looking for is something similar to Grave's blinding smoke. Think about it. If you have an enemy poisoned and slow, taking away their vision would be all you need to make your enemies fear you. It, too, can help as a secondary option for the benefit of allowing a teammate to escape or secure kills, which leads to a very strong support.

Finally, On your R, if your E is dishing out a blinding fog, the 2 seconds of invisibility is already there and you don't have to be silenced for it, either. If it were me, I would create that barrier you've been wanting so bad around Rayona, and (this is just my personal flavor) I would have it reset your cooldowns, similar to Rengar's max stack ability, allowing you a free-cast of one of your abilities to fill the poison barrier. This would, of course, give you more utility, and a large AOE of your choice when the time calls for it.
