Kayn drains your life? That's bs!

So the game without a "Timer" basically has a timer, cause' if you don't beat Kayn in a matter of time, he'll literally drain your life until your entire team is forced to die. Like I did so much work to get through Onslaught just to get fucked anyways. I know it's not supposed to be balanced, but I'd rather god damn Jinx ults flying around the map or something without worrying that I'm literally bound to lose if I simply don't defeat Kayn in 10 mins.

Its almost like a pvp game company doesn't understand that kiting and takign things slow when you are severely underpowered and slowly making sure to whittle down the enemy is pretty much the tried and true tactic FOR LITERALLY EVERY PVE GAME IN EXISTENCE

They don't seem to know much about pvp either, sadly.

I think onslaught is great, the missions too. Hard modeing stuff should be for hardcore players only. And you pleople whine because you weren't able to do it in 3 days when the event stays for 1 month. Actually people completed the 2 augment mission already . This means it should really have been harder.

That isn't entirely true. A good number of PvE content has "enraged" timers, where you essentially fail after a certain time passes.

I don't know about "literally every PVE game in existence". When I played WoW years ago, many raid bosses had some sort of enrage mechanic that would cause you to instantly lose.

Hexs Fortune9 votes

Those of us who used to raid know the enrage timer well.

Deadly Boss Mods gets that enrage countdown rolling and hilarity ensures once the tank gets 1 shot by a 10,000 percent enraged boss crit.

Everyone else from healers to dps runs around like headless chickens trying desperately to get in whatever damage they can before it's a total wipe.

GUD TIMES

ahhh that reminds me of the good old days, not sure if ur familiar with bordelands but there is a thing where u can enrage certain enemies and they just get stronger and stronger, and lets just say the person who is SUPPOSED to be our tank got a bit too close and got slapped for all his hp, the silence that followed then everyone yelling to run was hilarious*[sg-miss-fortune]*

It's to keep silly children who just completed Cadet and have absolutely no augment unlocks and only two slots absolutely 0 chance of beating this mission.

To show them how weak they truly are and that they need to give up, get stronger, then come back. They purposely let you jump straight into Onslaught just to show you how much stronger you need to get to have any chance of beating it.

If you're running an awesome optimized 5 augment build though, this should be pretty easy to beat. If you aren't, go farm Captain more.

Edit: The 4/3/2 augment runs are for OPTIMIZED augments, not some person that just unlocked their 4th slot and thinks they can run it with a ragtag augment setup that doesn't synergize at all.

Yet there are quests to use 4, 3, and 2 augments (as all 5 members)

However, there are so many augments available to test out in combination with so many different combinations of allies that it can be difficult to find the right ones to use. I have an idea for what to use for 4 augments for Jinx, but that's only after I finally beat Onslaught for the first time with 5 augments. I simply chose the one to remove that doesn't really have synergy with my strategy but it is still very solid an augment. I'm not sure how I'd figure to manage with 3 augments, but I have an idea of 2 different augments to eliminate from the build but it would be difficult to adjust and I'm not sure which one ought to get removed. The concept of using only 2 seems implausible, but might work however I have no clear decision possible for me to make yet which 2 of the 4 would be appropriate this early on.

Yet from what I can tell, people are actually regularly trying to get the Ziggs skin shard with players that got carried hard in Captain difficulty and have only 2-4 augment slots which is really triggering me. The group toxicity is very real and quite evident in this RGM.

Players should generally work their way on down the list of missions and by the time they unlock Onslaught difficulty, should really refrain from attempting to accomplish more than one mission at a time due to the insane difficulty and learning curve. But some people are trying to do 5 Yasuos, 5 of the same champ in onslaught, beat onslaught, and 4 augments or less for each champ in onslaught which is 4 different missions at the same time! We have unlimited potential for knowledge and understanding and skill but many players are acting like they and everyone else in their team can become the perfect Odyssey player with just a quick snap of the finger.

pick yasuo and not jinx and u gucci xD Saw people do it with 5 yasuo all with 2 augments

SanKakU1 votes

Oh, I tried every character, believe me. Jinx was a lot easier for me in the end because of her phenomenal range which is far higher than Yasuo's.

It's almost like you need 2 specific augments to be decent though.

And need to be skilled.

Hmmmm.

Acting as if you don't need to be skilled to do for example:

Pistol only through highest difficulty first person shooter games.

I don't even.

Z3Sleeper1 votes

If you don't have 5 slots, you likely don't have all augments, which means you aren't optimizing.

Which means 4/3/2 is gonna be almost impossible.

But only if you have ALL the augments unlocked you can be sure to have the 2 you need. Also it shouldn't be possible to do the mode at all for everyone. Which I think is not the case since people have done it with 2 augments 3 days into the event. Maybe it is too easy idk

OH! So thats why all of the missions handicap you to 4 augs, then 3?

idiot

Z3Sleeper1 votes

Cuz after you do it with 5 semi-optimized, doing it with 4 optimized especially with teammates is really simple too. Then you go for the 3 challenge, then the 2 hard challenge.

I’m pretty sure Kayn only rampages if you don’t attack him for x minutes eg trying to kite monsters around for minutes.

wait, that may be possible, ill have to test that out next time im playing, ill get my mates test the theory and tell u whether its time limit or what ill call a patience meter (your theory)

Ikr? Better gather full Yasuo main squad and right click q ult Kayn to death.

Onslaught is cancer and the missions for it are poorly designed. Riot only wanted the prizes to go to people with friends. That much is true.
