Champ ult ability idea, a suicide type explosion move that kills the caster

Pyrithegethon··1 votes·1,463 views

Upon activation he is invulnerable, rooted, and unable to be moved. He channels for 3 seconds in a ziggs ult aoe but around this champ. He casts a slow zone in the area where he channels but the slow is weak enough in that you can walk out with ease(think Jhin E). Whoever hit him last before casting his ult gets the credit for the kill, assists as well.

The ult would do extreme damage(stronger than true) the same damage as fountain turrets meaning Tryndamere ult, Kayle ult iirc, and other things that dont work against fountain turret.

His ult would do a lot of damage.

It would have a very very long cooldown.

Champ ult idea: Channels rage for 3 seconds, upon reaching the full 3 second channel, X creates a nova blast, killing himself, and his teams nexus instantly. This ability does not affect any other units than X and X's nexus.

Did I sum up your ability idea?

That would mean his move only hurts his team...?

Yea it's sarcasm, I'm pretty sure a team would rather have a live teammate than a one trick massive damage suicide bomber.

there shouldn't be anything in the game that rewards you for dying. I really dislike Kog'Maw's passive for what it is. that's just my two cents on the subject though.

I would hope the drawbacks to the move would either be an absurdly long cooldown, increased death timer, or both.

Leonidas Freedom1 votes

it still majorly rewards dying.

I would have the kit not heavily reliant on this move, the champ can still function to a degree outside of his ult and that the ult would be a last ditch effort with huge drawbacks and high risk

so you're going to constantly punish something that already gives you massive penalties? even if it doesn't give allies a gold lead on you, it'll put you behind in farm for both gold and experience, not to mention take you out of the fight. Not to mention the dude's a walking target for "oh shit, stay away from this guy"

the fountain does "pure" damage. Please don't make up words when the wiki spells it out.

besides, that move sounds like what shaco clone does, blows up and dies.

I think he was using extreme as an adjective and not a noun.

By comparing it to "true" damage, he must not have been referring to the amount but the type. The only types of damage in the game are physical, magical, (mixed), true, and pure. Pure is technically stronger than true due to it ignoring more than just resistances, it ignores invulnerability. The correct term for what he meant by "extreme" damage was "pure".

He could have been comparing it to true in order to frame the strength of the damage (aka what he would consider "extreme")

My bad, was told it was called extreme damage. Thanks for letting me know it's pure damage =D

Its like that move in Pokemon...But, no it would be very unbalanced. If this ultimate did exist in the game, it would be the sole responsibility of that champ to get in the middle of the fight and pop his ult, and die. Gold income, kda, cs, etc would have no bearing on his success because he simply goes in and presses 1 button that, according to your implication, scales naturally extremely well. No thanks.

Pyrithegethon1 votes

I was hoping it would have a medium base but an absurd scaling on either AP or AD(3.0 bonus AD, 2.0 AP.)

Hmmm.. I could see that, but I think putting a handicap on it or two.... Like maybe he does a black hole type of affect that pulls a champion into him as he blows up. Similar to Orriona's (did I spell that right?) Ultimate But if it were capable of killing the entire team then there should be some added handicap such as a penalty your gold and exp reward or maybe a leap and grab where your champion can grab another and wrap a steel cape around them both like a steel bell and he blows them himself and the enemy up inside of the steel bell, but with the right resistances can be survived by the victim but not by the assailant, so if it's misjudged on timing and circumstances then the surviving victim gets the kill and full rewards, but if both die... I think it should be split 60% (assailant) 40% victim, because after all your champ did die.... I think it's a good idea... with some brainstorming from the community I could see it being a reality. Just wanted to throw you some ideas that you might be able to work with, and I hope they helped in some way shape or form..... "Teamwork makes the dream work."Orianna

Thanks for the feedback, I'll work a little more on this idea to make it high risk, high reward, maybe go crazy and have it not completely kill him but does less damage, and has friendly fire(allies take 50% damage and if they die the last enemy that hit them gets the kill).

I kinda got this idea from shows and stories where somebody sacrifices themselves while(usually) taking others with him/her.

Interesting idea, but lets be honest with ourselves here. When we play Poke'mon do we keep Self Destruct or Explosion? No, we trade it for something useful and not so risky and counter productive.

Pyrithegethon1 votes

tbh I actually do, I use it if I know I wont be able to kill the pokemon or know I will die in 1 hit.

Fair enough. I'm honestly surprised anyone used that move. I normally just train more and find other way around my issues, but u do make a valid point
