Raphoena, the Throat of Ionia

EDIT: Changed Raphoena's title to The Muse Raphoena is a musical mage support who uses her abilities with good timing to crowd control enemies and protect allies all while buffing her team and debuffing the enemy with her songs.

EDIT: ALL abilities were changed, some more than others. She's a little bit easier to grasp now I hope. Comments always welcome!

And I hope this link works now.

Go there^ for art. I think you have to copy and paste it into your search bar. I'm not techy at all sorry

Description and Lore: Not much but here we go. Raphoena is an Ionian vocalist famous for her haunting renditions in the traditional tongue. The artifact on her head is actually a very important cleansing bell that had been used for centuries to purify the courtyards with it's chime. It was removed from it's tower and broken during the Noxian invasion, and could no longer ring. Something strange happened when it heard Raphoena's musings, however. Her voice resonated within the cracked bell to produce the same healing chime that the bell once produced. Raphoena felt a strange connection with the sacred artifact, and soon it was decided that they would become one.

Raphoena brings unparalleled grace and elegance to the Fields of Justice. She brings no armor or weapons into battle, and walked with measures steps in her flowing gown, constantly exuding a hymn. This constant singing is what makes Raphoena special. As she moves, as the game progresses, her musings change. A game as Raphoena is a musical experience all it's own inspired by what I experienced playing BardBard the first time. Almost every quote of Raphoena is coupled by a harmonic echo of the bell on her head, making even her spoken words musical. Sometimes for a quote she will just hum or sing, while the passive singing ducks out of the way for her solo. Raphoena also brings much needed racial and body type variation to the champion pool.

I'll try to add some numbers this time

Passive, Heart Song- Raphoena is always exuding an ever-changing hymn that echoes off nearby champions. For each ally in range of her song, both she and her allies receive +5 armor and magic resist and the range of Heart Song increases. Enemy champions are reduced instead but also increase range. Max range of 1600. Heart song is interrupted by silences only. Champions affected are indicated to allies by a rippling effect from the champion facing the direction of Raphoena

Q, Resonance- Phoena releases a targeted sound attack, dealing 50/90/130/170/210+40%AP magic damage to the target. After 1 second, a concussive echo emanates from the target, dealing 90/135/180/225/270+90%AP magic damage to enemies around the target, but not to the target itself. Those damaged by the echo are also stunned for 1.5 seconds

W, Haven- Raphoena forms a bubble of solid sound at a area with size increasing with rank. Enemies are pushed away from the bubble and unable to pass for 2 seconds, after which a zone of echos will remain for an additional 4 seconds, applying Heart Song to any champions within despite Raphoena's distance.

E, Vibrato- Passive- When Vibrato is in travel, Heart Song also slows enemies by 40% +5%per 100 AP

Active- Raphoena releases an undulating burst of sound in a target direction, dealing 60/90/120/150/180/210+45%AP magic damage to all enemies passed through and slowing them by 80% briefly. Encountering terrain will cause the blast to vibrate to the other side in a straight line, (much like Bard's E) , exploding from the opposite side of terrain as an aoe and dealing an additional 30/45/60/75/90+45%AP magic damage if this occurs.

R, Vox- Raphoena takes a second to prepare a haunting song and sends it across a large distance to visible target ally or enemy. It takes the form of a long slinking stream of light that obeys terrain, similar to Kled's Kled ultimate. Upon arrival, it will heal the ally by 50-400/100-600/150-800 +20-100% AP based on distance traveled and apply heart song's buff to them for a duration equal to the time it took for Vox to land. Allies the song passes through en route are healed for 30% effectiveness, also based on distance traveled. Alternatively, on arrival, target enemy will receive 100-450/150-650/200-850 +30-120% AP magic damage based on distance traveled, and receive Heart Song's debuff for a length of time equal to the time it took Vox to land.

*The buff/debuff's potency is calculated upon cast.

Targets cannot see Vox coming until it is within their ally sight or los, but they will hear when Raphoena casts it and can hear it approaching, gradually getting louder a it draws near.

Vox has a max cast range of 4000 at rank 3 and will only pursue a target to this range.

Some quotes i guess:

Raphoena hums Raphoena sings "It is the calling of man to serve his purpose. It is the nature of man to change his purpose." "All things echo the same energy, a song played at the beginning of time, resounding throughout history." "Never lose your vigor. But remember to sleep." "I feel a song coming on." "Let favor follow us this day, and blessings spring from out footsteps." "I will not be silenced!" (upon being silenced) "Tradition has it's place, but revolution gets results."

Taunt (Sona): "Hmm, about 40 cents flat."/"I applaud you extensive use of... dissonance."/"Wait, was that music you were playing?"

Joke: Pulls off the bell and shakes out her purple hair. "I need some air!"/"Ahh, so this is what this place looks like!"/"Wow, you actually look better than you sound."

Some skin ideas i had were Siren Raphoena and Pool Party Raphoena, with a big ol sun hat.

Alright, that's pretty much it! Let me know what you think of this champion.

Random ramblings;

I hate your passive because it is free perpetual stat changes that are invisible

>delayed AoE stun oh it doesn't stun the target okay that's interesting don't think it's a good kind of interesting

Interesting W as well-- though again I don't think it's a great interesting (3 second stun but breaks if you don't burst the target instantly)

E is, uh... >6 second wall that allies can pass through >also grants damage reduction

(completely 100% invalidates basically every other terrain creation ability)

R's sacrifice of passive is, in my opinion, poor but the base ability is potent. I just don't like it-- it's a global target heal/nuke that's delayed based on distance, but enhanced from distance.

And since it's targetted explicitly, there is nothing your opponent can do about it unless they become untargetable-- dying except by execution is not a good thing.

it's, overall, entirely interesting but I don't really like any of the interesting points.

and because there are no things that are not Interesting it is very difficult to think how it would function

That said I definitely have to applaud you for making something interesting that's easy to understand because it seems to be something that gets lost-- either the kit lacks any interesting hook, or it's complicated

(I feel that the R is complicated and that you could completely remove the passive transferral component to simplify it : but that wouldn't really be ideal, the idea of supporting across the map is interesting because if you can time things well you are winning very good, but it's also a very high learning curve on it)

Raphoena also brings much needed racial and body type variation to the champion pool.[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

passive shouldn't buff AD/AP or she would be OP passive should most likely be deactivated under any form of Hard CC as well

not sure about ult giving AP
