Sooo...I have an idea

Out of curiosity, I'm compelled to bring this up, even if it's unrealistic.

Right, so now that Riot is doing board games, what if they made more, but not connected to League and try to branch out beyond their flagship? Like an Oregon Trail-esque zombie survival game? Is there a way someone could hypothetically submit such an idea for review? Or to be a little more forward and presumptuous, if an idea is good enough, is there a chance this game would be under consideration or even a potential job opening? Not just asking for myself, but if someone has a game idea which could yield results, what are the chances of them getting an interview or something?

Hi Keevalroy, we don't take submissions for game ideas, I'm afraid. As for getting a job, we always interested in talking to talented people who are passionate about games. I don't think we'd hire someone to get their game ideas, though, we've got a lot of ideas here already.

How would I get in touch about a job? There's no position listed on the Riot Games website specifically for board game design.

Design in general translates fairly well between board game and non-board game. I know quite a few board game designers who applied for Riot for other design positions.

Also, Riot so far has said that this is a "one off" game and they don't plan on doing more board or card games in the near future. So I doubt they are looking to hire people who are only looking to design board games.

We don't generally hire for a specific project, so there wouldn't be a board game designer listed. We'd just look for good designers, board game experience is a plus if we've got board games in the works. Mechs vs Minions may be the only board game we do, though. We don't have a follow up planned. Though as Kades always says, we listen to our players. If you all like MvM and want more board games, let us know.

There's already a zombie version of Oregon Trail. It's called Organ Trail.

Yes, but as far as I knew there wasn't a tabletop version of it, only PC. This is also more detailed with more ways to play - multiplayer as a primary but still solo'able.

They aren't a publishing company so I doubt they would take outside ideas. Same way they don't take outside ideas for Champions and such. If you want to pitch a game to company I'd look into publishers that already have stuff set up for that. You can find more at BoardGameGeek.com if you want to ask around there.
