Riot Can We Talk About Revive?

When you removed Revive, you didn't provide any bit of context or explanation as to why you did it. I'm under the belief that if you can't explain why you're doing something, you probably shouldn't be doing it. So Meddler, since you're poking around the forums right now, I have to ask; why did you remove it?

This is the part where they don't get, you don't remove things from your own game, you just don't do it unless it's like broken and unfixable at all.

If it's bad, you tune it so it becomes better, not deleting it.

If you remove it due to people troll and death rush, removing revive won't stop them, you only make the people in games with them suffer longer.

I'm going to miss revive summoner 12 Karthus. They even removed the spell icon from the list here on the forums... :(

I thought revive had potentially good uses rather than troll feeding. I believe Karthus players used it often? I'm not sure what for, maybe to instantly revive and use ult?

I think there should also be multiple new spells because in my opinion, seeing 10 summoner 4 in every single game with the exception of some junglers like Hecarim or people like Singed is really getting old.

Maybe one spell lowers the cooldowns on all other spells for Q/W/E combo reliant champs with more higher cooldowns but the cooldown reduction is based on how large the cooldowns already are so people with already small cooldowns can't go into URF mode every like 5 minutes. Or one is a sort of shield that lets you gain mana based on how much damage the shield does to you for tanky-mana using champions obviously non-tanks wouldn't use that since if they're getting a lot of damage on them they might not be able to even use the spell effectively, but who knows. Another good spell idea could be used for wave clearing for those champs who are more single target based and can't push well, or for those who want to split push like a 45 second cooldown minion wave execute.

I personally think that {{summoner:2}} summoner 1 summoner 13 summoner 21 are all underrated as well. Clairvoyance can be used for global ult champions very effectively, Clarity can be really effective if you want to spam your abilities and could help win lane easily, Barrier is better if you have larger health and intend to tank, and Cleanse could also be used by tanks in combo of barrier.

There's a ton of possibilities for new spells, revive was cool and should be kept and if not more spells would be so awesome and maybe slight buffs to the current ones that aren't picked often so that people could be encouraged to use it.

One of the sole reasons they probably removed revive was due to intentional feeders. I can name a countless number of queues in which someone threatened to (and actually did) feed on purpose and with great speed by taking revive and teleport. Simply walk into a lane, feed the enemy a kill, revive and teleport back to the same lane, and feed another kill in a very short period of time which would result in that lane automatically snowballing in just under a minute's time.

Why take Revive to instantly come back from death when you could just take Flash, Heal, or Ghost to avoid death in the first place?

Literally the only legitimate use of Revive was Revive/Teleport Karthus, and even that's sketchy. Revive didn't add strategic diversity. It was just bad.

I'm pretty sure it's cause well

  1. no one wants to die, all the summoner spells cause death for the other team or help you avoid death this one only encourages you to die maybe?

  2. cooldown is morbidly long

  3. can't gut the cooldown cuz then everyone on the team would take it and games would drag on forever

No one used revive, it didn't change games, no reason to remove it.

Still waiting for some answers, Riot. If you don't want to answer / don't know what to say, you could always give it back. You don't have to worry about contradicting arguments if you silently slip Revive back in like how you silently took it away for no reason. In that case, I wouldn't care if you provided a reason for it's removal or not, I'd just be happy with you bringing it back.

If I recall correctly, the reason riot disliked revive was because it is the only summoner spell that works when you have misplayed and died (Karthus is the one exception here). All summoner spells are meant to be reactive or active in the sense that they are play makers eg. Do damage, heal, shield, Mana boost, vision, map teleportation/blinking where as revive is just coming back from death. I've explained this really badly but the tl;dr is that they saw it a too different from other summoners.
