Riot What Do You Want Ahri to Do?

Alright, so I've calmed down a bit since the announcement following DFG's removal is that assassin Ahri will die with it based on the proposed changes. So my question to Riot is what are you trying to do with her and why?

Anyone can see Ahri will be heavily impacted by DFG's removal, and deserves some compensation for losing such an arguably mandatory item on her. Those compensation "buffs" on the PBE are going to turn her into a kite mage...very VERY far away from the assassin playstyle that is typically played. She's not even a problem! In fact she's one of the healthiest assassins in the game! If you want to call Zed a healthy assassin;

  1. You're as blind as Lee Sin SHOULD be.
  2. You need to get past your need to protect #LCSBIGPLAYS champs. Do NOT deny this part. It's disgusting when you do. and 3. Based on the recent balance changes, I question if some of you even play the game.

Number 3 really came to mind when I saw the Ahri changes. No one in their right minds plays her as a mage because it's not optimal (in addition to being dreadfully boring.) You're sacrificing a lot of power that you'd get from hitting charm and combo'ing with DFG. Now that DFG is gone, why on Earth are you removing the Charm damage amp as well? Giving her a movespeed buff on her Q and having W do slightly more damage doesn't change the fact that she can no longer assassinate people. I'm not going to count the extra damage on Charm because let's be honest, it's a slap in the face to Ahri players.

Assassin Ahri wasn't a problem, she was fun to play, and had clear weaknesses while remaining strong in the right hands. Less can be said about other select champions that still don't have meaningful nerfs. Riot, why do you hate the assassin Ahri playstyle even though it was healthy? Why do you want her to throw spells and run away like a frightened kitten? Do you not see how many people are against these changes?

We've had ZERO interaction or explanation on your choices here, and the long silence between the announcement and the ever-approaching 5.2 patch date is not very reassuring that we can have some kind of discussion about her. Talk to us. Let us provide some feedback to you directly so we can communicate what we want to keep and change from the update.

I can't believe they're actually going through with these massive Ahri nerfs.

To be honest, I don't see the point in changing anything about her at all.

Making Charm amplify damage rewards one style of play, and does not punish the other.

However, I'm mostly bothered by the fact that they're going to remove the Charm damage amplification without compensating her Ultimate's damage-- the damage lost by Fox-fire [relative to before the Doom implementation] is being added into Charm itself, but her Ultimate is still losing a pretty significant sum of damage [45/75/105 (+15% AP)]...

Also, what the fuck. LOL They said they were going to give her "buffs" in compensation for the removal of deathfires. Those aren't buffs LOL. Those are brutal brutal brutal nerfs. She's not even remotely close to where she once was when they gutted her DUE to deathfires. An extra 135 damage added into the kit is definitely NOT a buff when you remove deathfires % amp AND charm % amp. It's a MAJOR nerf. All of this in exchange for a . . . move speed buff? lol. Is that your answer for everything, riot? Throw a movespeed buff in here to make the mobility creep worse! It's a real compensation ((they think at least. Too bad it's not.)), just too bad you can't kill anything. hue hue hue.

The balance team is really showing how bad they are this game these past couple years. Everything they touch, nobody plays.

If the 4.13 Sona nerfs and Riot Jag's recent comments are proof enough, Riot isn't interested in feedback or communication. She's going to get nerfed and we have absolutely no say in it.

I cant really agree that DFG was mandatory on her. I only built it maybe half the time and wouldnt need to use the active. The loss of the 20% damage amp from is what i think is really screwing her over.

wait whats going on... what is riot doing to Ahri now? Please don't, she's one of my favorite champs to use... :(

All I want is for them to compensate for the damage loss. That's it. They want to get rid of DFG? Fine. They want to get rid of Charm's damage amp? Ok.

But give her the damage back in other places. Don't just give her +20 base damage, some movespeed and call it a day. This whole Mage/Assassin argument is completely beside the point because either way she needs damage to do her job.

Meh, it's depressing. What's sad is that they actually think they're doing well. They're gutting Kat as well next LOL. :(

I think riot wants her to be more of a mobile mage ATM. DFG has been a problem for a number of champs so it has to go IMO.

I for one am all for the changes. Giving Ahri more mobility in the place of burst potential seems to fit her lore and "fantasy" (as riot likes to call it) better than her assassin playstyle.
