I do not care if you like my pick.

Kikirino··18 votes·1,409 views

If I pick Ez adc, do not pick Cait to try and replace me. I like Ez. I am good with Ez. It is Solo Q. I pick who I am good with. I do not pick who you like to see. Someone picks Soraka mid? Don't pick Ori because you don't think Soraka can mid. NO ONE is picking based on your preferences. YOU are screwing your team. Not the person that picked what you don't like.

Those things you listed I can understand. Soraka mid can be viable. Ezreal ADC, even Mid Ez is popular right now. That being said, do not encourage or endorse the troll picks. A Vladimir Support, Poppy Mid, Ahri ADC, these things ruin the thought of a Solo Queue match. People will just use this "IDGAF" logic and ruin a game. If its halfway viable and you have the match history to back your pick up, you go for a non-meta role/champion. Just don't play a champion just to play that champion. That's why we have normals. Play smart, summoners.

Are you addressing OP or the other commentators?

What's the difference, he makes a good point doesn't he? It's one thing to do something fringe that has proven success, it's another to pick something non-meta just to be a troll and then defend yourself with "You can't force me to use the meta". Taking Zilean jungle isn't a non-meta pick, it's a troll pick. Same with plenty of other examples. I just don't want to see people abusing the existence of reasonable anti-meta picks to ruin the game for people.

A bit hostile dude. I don't disagree with what he's saying, nor did I plan to. I was curious as to whom he was addressing because the context was a bit confused in my head. I think some of the people who commented on the post were a bit confused at to OP's intentions. I read the original post as "Don't try to over-pick me just because you didn't like my preferred champion" but in context of I'm playing perfectly viable champion/role combinations but it's not the champion they wanted to see played like the recent tendency to force the support into picking Leona if available., but I read a lot of the comments as "Yeah, screw the meta Support Rengar ftw!!!!"

If he's addressing OP, then his comment seems to misunderstand OP as endorsing anti-meta troll picks, when he just wanted to play the champs he was good at in viable roles that didn't happen to be what his team (or someone on the team) wanted. If he's addressing the other comments that misunderstand OP's intentions, then his comment sounds like a clarification that OP isn't necessarily endorsing anti-meta picks for the sake of breaking the meta.

That's why I asked. Not to agree or disagree but simply because I wanted clarification as to whom his targeted audience was (since it wasn't obvious for me at least).

SN: Are you intentionally hunting down every post or comment that I make to provoke me? I'm not saying that you are, but every comment you've made (and it's obvious for me because you make up a good portion of my updates) has had a tone that felt provoking, mildly hostile, or rude and disrespectful and it's a bit annoying, I'll admit.

How was I being hostile? I literally didn't understand what the difference would be if he was addressing the OP or the comments, since for the most part the comments are in line with the OP. I was just curious that's all, and I'm glad you clarified, because I didn't think about it in that perspective. Not sure why you're trying to read into anything, its the internet, you can't hear tone or anything from a comment.

As far as the last bit, I'm on here a lot because my ISP has been having connection issues so I can't play reliably, not "hunting" you or anyone else. For you reading it, that's up to you, personally I think it's silly to try to read intention or tone into a comment on the internet, you get none of the connotation and only the material substance of what is being said. Perhaps you're just a bit oversensitive? I will say that I generally only comment when I see something blatantly wrong, is a question I know the exact answer to, or is a comment that I feel is obviously narrow-sighted and deserves to be countered. I guess you can read into whatever you like, your choice, but it's a bit odd for you to try calling me out when I've seen quite a few of your comments that are questionable in attitude and content.

Just a simple reply to the original post. Its great to have confidence in your picks. Having proof you can fulfill a role gives your team confidence. All that confidence wins games. Vice versa, if I hop into Solo Queue and our 1st pick tells us that he/she is going Riven mid and that its "OP", I am going to check their match history. If I see they have lost 9 out of 10 games as Riven, there is no way in hell I'm going to let them walk their way into mid lane. Either that, or I play jungle and camp their lane (make sure he/she does well). All I am saying is practice your non-meta picks in normals and have a good win rate before hopping into the infamous Solo Queue.

I completely agree with you. I'm just now getting into Ranked and I look up my team during champ select to see their record in their desired role because it gives me a feel of where I should look to roam or help out if possible (or if I should dodge the queue altogether). That wasn't the nature of my question.

But Poppy mid-lane IS viable...

Tanky mids happen, and poking her is pointless since her W gains MR stacks as she takes damage.

CaptainWednesday3 votes

Incorrect. She gains Armor and Attack Damage, not Magic Resistance. She is not a viable middle laner.

Team builder has been announced by League, meaning you will definitely get to play who you want to, where you want to, how you want to. Not sure when it actually going to be released though.

-edit-

It was released yesterday. Did not expect to log on and see it already available.

I play Heimerdinger in the top lane, the mid lane, the bottom lane, and especially the jungle. Amen, brother. Screw the doubters and their Meta.

Truth! Used to love blitz top, but because he doesn't have sustain he's horrible and I'm a horrible person for thinking I can top with him. Hate that stuff.

just a comment here... sometimes even your best champ is not good for your team comp... i.e. my best support is leona, but sometimes i have to run with annie cuz is what my team needs, i do agree people is good with no meta champs and that sometimes they work but... as long as you don't take team comp in consideration, you take no actions as a team player for the gg of your team and you don't get the match history to back up your picks (as someone already said) you deserve all the crap you can get =P

peace

I have never seen anyone try to replace me if they did not like my pick. (Or anyone else) THat's F***ed up bro.

I used to get this problem all the time in solo because I main Quinn adc. Someone would almost always dodge as soon as I picked her, even though she was my best champ at the time. Now I play Sivir adc just because it makes people happy.

Kikirino1 votes

I had this problem when I would Quinn top. I cannot tell you how many times I was forced to adc because Quinn top is 'troll' so they took Riven or something. Is Quinn top common? No? Does it work and shut down damn near every melee top? Sure as hell does.

WINE inducing implies that lag would give me a nice pinot grigio. WHINE inducing implies complaint. No joke for you!
