Aatrox should be more like war from darksiders (aatrox discussion)

i personally picked up aatrox solely because his design concept was intriguing/cool af, the incarnation of war based of a darkin reminded me of my favorite games when i was younger which was darksiders and with the recent darkin lore updates along with the addition of Rhaast which pay more homage to that game makes me excited when it comes to aatrox and his eventual game-play update

apart from fighting style aatrox is heavily based on war from darksiders, one of the four horsemen/five darkin, big giant sword, brother uses a scythe and represents death

i think its a great theme for aatrox and his rework can reflect more if he took after his concept even further in terms of fighting style

i read recently riot state they want a “bloodthirsty, greatsword-wielding Warlord.” "We want Aatrox’s attacks and abilities to feel very heavy and powerful while still maintaining the duelist nature of a sword master. And he’s definitely gonna have a giant Darkin sword that feeds on the death and destruction of all humanity"

i like the sound of this, i know some people who read his release lore thought he should be an aura brusier who gives his allies healing and buffs to keep fighting on and turn the tide, but personally i think he should just be a terrifying individual who represents war who could level the tide himself and that to me is a powerful theme

every single skill of aatrox needs some sort of work and not a lot of them fit the whole darkin warlord who strives to keep fighting theme besides his revive

passive- they should definitely keep the revive, it pushes the idea of a sword wielding warrior refusing to go down

q- aatrox leaps at target location and smashing his armored hand into the ground knocking up units in the inner circle but slowing enemies hit by the outer circle, outer circle has swords spike up from the ground (slower leap speed than current maybe tristana leap speed) (i also like the idea of weapons of war being summoned)

ult- aatrox enters his chaos form, im very conflicted about this as they said they wanted him to be heavy which one would assume means slow yet his current ult gives him an attack speed roid

w- im very interested to see what they do here, im almost certain they will keep his heal considering they want him to still be bloodthirsty

e- why does this skill even exist, it doesn't represent war, it has the strangest travel mechanics due to it being smaller the further it goes and bigger when its initially cast giving you an "advantage" even tho i doubt i would miss if i was in point blank range ? scrap it completely and give him something new to play with

i know his rework is soon upon us and im going to enjoy the attrox we have now, just wanted to give my two cents on what aatrox means to me before he gets his rework considering i havent seen a lot of post about him recently

Aatrox

It is only fitting for Aatrox to be like Berserker Armor Guts. After all the Aatrox rework hiatuses it is only right.

They (Riot) don't want to keep the revive due to how much of his power budget it takes up. And frankly I don't blame them because even War can be defeated, although only on a temporary basis.

I wouldn't mind seeing Aatrox summoning weapons/blades constantly. It would be kinda cool if he had a charge mechanic on one of his skills like Galio's Taunt that increased the number of waves of blades (like Nautilus' Riptide).

For his gap closer, I think this is where he should be made more into a juggernaut by giving him an aura (think 250 range) where the enemy is slowed if facing away from him. And if the enemy fights back in that aura, they get increased attack rate. This would be akin to him "bringing out the desire for war" even in an enemy.

That fight had my favorite piece of music from that series, despite the fact that they hacked it apart and just threw it back together haphazardly to last the duration of the fight.

Well on his rework trailer, the way he swung his sword, his glare and the way he moves/sheate the sword, he definetly reminds me of War. So we can say that your wish has partially became true
