Quick question re Pick 'Em rankings of GBM and IMT

Okay, like many other NA people, I got boned pretty hard by the NA ADCs forgetting that Flash is supposed to be pointed away from the marauding mob of enemies, not towards them.

However, while Immortals were busy choking on the shattered dreams of a fanbase who is still reeling over Huni's Lucian debacle, I found at least some solace that they tied with GBM for last, and therefore I'd at least get something in that Godforsaken bracket right.

Only, lo and behold, GBM is 3rd, with the exact same record as IMT, who is in 4th, and now I'm going to be one Pick Ems point shy of a long and fulfilling life.

Why is this? Is this just an error that people have decided to let go? Or is there an SKT fanboy behind the controls somewhere wringing his hands and saying "more like poo-mortals amirite lol NA last place"? Because IMT and GBM both ended with the same record, so if ties are possible... well... that's the very definition of one.

I've seen mention somewhere that since GBM was in the final playoff game, that somehow makes them higher in the standings--but Immortals lost their playoff game as well, so it's not like GBM has played more overall games or is somehow 'less disqualified'. Are they just higher because they were technically knocked out later? Because if that's the case, then IMT's being last has literally nothing to do with the game or the league, and the decision to dump them at #4 and rob me of pick 'em points that could have prevented the now-inevitable fiery apocalypse was literally made by a coin toss. Plus, by that logic, EDG should be #3 and AHQ #4, because EDG took their last loss later in the day.

It makes no sense.

Yeah, it's a little interesting. I figured if GAM marines lost they would do like what they did with EDG and AHQ who are both 3rd. They usually do that because the 3rd/4th place doesn't really matter since neither get out. But in this case it appears to be because there was a 3 way tiebreaker and GAM were given the higher seed due to quickest average wins (I think that's what they used) they factored that into it.

Hmm... that could be the justification, but it still doesn't make sense, though--if they are higher because of quickest average wins, why are EDG and AHQ tied? Shouldn't EDG be awarded an arbitrary higher spot because they had faster wins?

So if GBM won, they would just go through without having to play again? That seems kinda dumb... but it would avoid the "now what" of having all of them even again if GAM won vs FNC, and then would need to face IMT... who would even it out again if they won and have to start the whole thing over again.

Determining ties by game time does still seem like a bizarrely arbitrary mechanism, though, particularly since the late-game meta is such a huge thing in many regions... I mean, you could just as easily have gauged it on gold differentials, team KDA, objective control--all things that are more indicative of dominance in this meta than whether a team won by picking a comp designed to steamroll in 20, or picking a comp that isn't built to instantly shove towers and farming them to unstoppable gargantuan levels.
