Eternals: Is this a fucking joke?!?!?!?!
It's kind of been a long day for me (called in for a lunch shift, hanging out at my last game store closing soon), so I was kind of surprised to come onto the boards and see talk about "Eternals". Having to know what they are, I looked them up and low and behold, it's a new low for Riot!
So, the way I understand how Eternals work, for those who haven't checked any other posts on this yet, are basically personal achievements for each champion. At first glance, this is kind of nice. A lot of other games have achiements and it is another form of progression to add to the game. Keeps people playing and whatnot.
THEN YOU READ THAT YOU HAVE TO BUY THESE TO HAVE ACCESS TO THEM!!!! REALLY?!??!?! Why? Why make something that could easily be free to add? "Oh, we're using new tech and that costs us a lot so we had to make it pu-"

I refuse to believe that simply making new tech to make this justifies your decision to make this only available by purchasing them. You're already adding more and more options to buy things with RP, skins being the obvious choice, but in addition you have the hextech boxes, battle passes, and let's not forget the fucking Little Legends not too long ago! You're not a super small inde-company anymore. From what I understand, you make quite a bit of revenue. Why are you turning more and more into the modern AAA companies like EA and Activision that players hate so much?
And even if I was OK having to buy these things, is it really that worth it for the endgame? What do you get when you hit these milestones and rekindles? Just some bars over your mastery emote. That's it. Are you taking the piss right now? That's all you get when you hit these milestones? Nothing special like unique flairs, new taunts, something new that actually feels worthwhile to go and achieve for? They're a joke right now.
I'm sick of how almost every new thing you try adding to the game to make it a little more unique and interesting you have to put a price tag on it (or breaks the game, one or the other). Let this go free, please. No one wants to buy the option of having access to something basic as achievements, especially when the reward is so little. Otherwise, let it die. I have no interest in supporting this whatsoever and no one else should either.
