I still will not understand why Paragon/Rogue Blitz walk didn't change

Now I might not play Blitz, but even then I still am pissed a bit that they kept the base walk animation for these skins. It really doesn't make any sense. Saying that players couldn't recognize him? How?!?! He's the one champ in the game that is not only the only pure robot in the game (not counting skins or champs turned into robots Orianna ) but also uses his arm to insta grab you and then do his stupid knockup ult combo! I think that's enough to know that's him!

I really wanted him to have a cool serious-like style of skin, he already has enough goofy ones with Battle Boss, Customs, & iBlitz. But now unlike those skins, they feel better quality since they have unique animations for their price. Here, yeah you get new animation for the Q a bit, the W, recall, and even ult, but all of that I feel is a bit lost when you have to put in the goofy walk animation. It just completely throws the whole tone & setting of the skin out the window.

The only reason i will not be buying the skins is because if the walk animation.

Same here, was planning on getting the combo, but not if the walk isn't different. Blitz is one of my favorites.

I don't agree with the "animation identification" with Blitz. Usually in-game, Blitz stays stationary (not walking) and waits for grab. Or, when he usually moves closer, it's with his speed boost on.

When you have to look at Blitz's walking to know it's him, it's already too late.

Yeah but people with very questionable speed of information processing complained that his typically small head, typically large chest (rest of the body to be precise), typically unstressed legs (which are non-existent in this case) and typically unusual arm weren't enough to tell it's Blitz when teamfight happens.

Because everyone knows when teamfight happens, you go in with no idea what champions actually play in the game and what to expect since nobody needs a plan. Because Blitz grabbed them and they were like "Holy shit, so unexpected, I though I could totally dive in carelessly because I forgot we play against 5 players and one of them is Blitz, shit, next time we teamfight I will actually have to think about what enemy champions can do to me and realize one of them is Blitz thus expecting him to position himself for a grab and not needing him to walk like tard to actually realize my plan is disrupted by his very key ability".

I haven't seen a single Blitz use either skin the past 6 or so times I've seen him

Like I know game clarity is important but given iBlitzcrank has a hook that's near invisible and Battle Boss Blitz has a different walk cycle the idea a skin can't have something that doesn't instantly look like the classic skin is kinda bs. The retracting skillshot drills and the melee champion hovering the backline should be enough in-game signal to identify it as Blitz.

I can't even think of who they're confusing it for in the supposed playtests, Warden Nautilus or Battlecast Urgot??? The model has his arms to the side and is shaped pretty differently, the size and colors are similar at best.

I'm still kinda lost on how people wouldn't recognize Blitz when the loading screen shows both team comps...

MillyNotMiley7 votes

If they miss the load screen, a simple press of "tab" would suffice as well. [sg-ezreal]

There is that too.

Or a glance at the minimap. People don't do this at my ELO tho.

Laziness on riots part. Why bother committing effort to something when you can make up some poor excuse like clarity and brush it off.

SociopathFriend2 votes

"Laziness" huh? Makes sense. Go through all the work and expense of making the animation, test it out, and then decide, after the money is spent and feedback is received and evaluated, to undo the change and essentially toss away the money.

10/10 reasoning.

Really wanted the paragon one. When they d idnt change the walking animation, I knew there was no way in hell I was dropping the cash for that goofy movement on an otherwise great skin.

GreenLore6 votes

While I agree that the animation should have been changed,I feel like your arguementation is a bit flawed.

in the game (not counting skins or champs turned into robots )

Well this arguement falls kinda flat when others do use robot or other hightech skins....

but also uses his arm to insta grab you and then do his stupid knockup ult combo! I think that's enough to know that's him!

Well if he has already grabbed you, then it is too late anyway. The important thing is to recognize him before he grabs you.

Because our "LC$ Big Pro PlayerZ" have a goldfish memory and couldn't recognize a Blitzcrank for his name instead of his in game model, and that's stupid and ludicrous if you ask me.

StonePlatypus5 votes

They lost many sales, including my own, because of his walk not changing. I will not ever buy this skin UNLESS the walk is changed. When it is changed, I'll buy both.

Chembaron Yamada4 votes

Same here, if Riot wants to sell a serious power fantasy for Blitzcrank to me, then please make it a serious skin. The walk animation makes him look goofy, it just becomes another joke skin for him that way (at least in my opinion).

Kloqdq5 votes

This is still bullshit every time I hear it. The cycle should have changed.

Only character in the game that has one huge arm... unrecognizable.

I'm still confused why it's 2 skins and not a skin & a chroma

Tactical Barrels3 votes

double the skin double the cash, its simple yet effective.

Kaladin Davar3 votes

so glad they kept it just to piss off these annoying children

Anu3isII2 votes

Even if I got it for free, I would not use it. It looks so cool, but the animation is just dumb.

ChuShoe2 votes

What I'm pissed about is that it's two seperate skins, instead of it being a skin that you can choose to transform into either (like kayn turning into sa or rhaast)

ZeroAgainst2 votes

didnt they change i blitz cranks walk animation

ADC5LUT2 votes

You wanna talk about not recognizing champs? I frequently afk during loading screen and one time I came back to this weird ass robot mech thing waiting by red... I was like wtf is this champ... Rengar replied it was his new skin. ._.

Tomoe Gozen1 votes

It doesn't matter if you agree with it or not. The skin has been in the playtesters' hands before yours so if they've gotten feedback about Blitz being unrecognizable with almost everything changed, Riot approached the situation with caution.

Maligaro Spike2 votes

my main concern is that blitz W still has different animation so let's suppose he comes from fog of war with W on, the argument completely falls off
