OK as much as I love PROJECT Jhin...

...and don't get me wrong, the skin is absolutely gorgeous and I really want to get it, but now looking back this is Jhin's third skin he has gotten this year alone!

And I thought Master Yi getting Cosmic and Eternal Sword in the same year was bad, this is just ridiculous now! Granted one of skins Jhin has is Esports related and so it's legacy, fine fair point, but nevertheless he's still getting Yi's treatment of "oh an extra skin this year over everyone else".

Look I like Jhin, he's one of the few ADC's I really love to play hell one of the few champs in League that I love to play, but as much as I want to have him get a PROJECT skin, I feel it's a bit much to be pushing out three whole skins for one champ in the same year, even if one of those is Esports related.

Seriously, most champs after Jhin up to say Camille haven't gotten a new skin yet, hell Illaoi is just now getting a public vote done for her next skin and she was released before him!

The thing is, jhin is immensely more popular than all of those combined. Riot does take popularity into account when creating new skins imo

Taliyah actually isn't that far behind in terms of popularity. At least, she wasn't too long ago (her current playrate is half of Jhin's). It's a shame honestly because you can do some really cool stuff with her animations. They missed a good opportunity with the Star Guardians. Imagine a giant Shooting Star Wall. That would have been amazing.

It doesnt count because riot doesnt have any control of what champions get chosen by the players. If this year SSG adc wants a jhin skin, he will get another one.

Riot has the final say, but the players get an involvement choice.

I just feel like there isn't much you can do with her kit. Her Q is the only spell which has a unique animation. In addition I think she would have been a bit of an odd thematic choice. The ledgendary project skins are on champs with a ton of conviction and I think Sivir's "I don't care, I'm a bandit" theme wouldn't translate well into the project world.

That's just my take on it anyway.

I feel like Project is a skinline that they could have added a lot of cool effects to with Sivir. Her other skins are pretty lackluster

I feel bamboozled again, the first time with the rakan and xayah teaser were the image looked like something Quinn related but ended up being another bird themed marksman duo. Now with the whole Project: Hunter theme :(

If it adds a skin to their list of available skins to purchase, it counts. It being a worlds skin doesn't magically exclude it.

They don’t count.

Ultimately, the members of the Worlds winning team chose the skin for the champion in a certain role. Riot doesn’t have much to say against their wishes (except for in the rumored case of Faker wanting Ahri in one year and Riot saying no then).

Riot’s skin team doesn’t make the decision, and thus it doesn’t count.

not rumored it's true. Ahri is faker's favorite champion and he wanted a skin for it, but he didn't get a chance to play it at worlds therefore it was ineligible.

He's talking about how SKT's first win, they denied Faker Ahri because Popstar Ahri was coming out. Then from there, it's been "Didn't play her in Worlds, ineligible for a skin."

Exactly, so obviously worlds skins do, in fact count, and we have precedence for it. WTF is up with people trying to say a skin isn't a skin so their champion can get even more skins that they don't fucking deserve in the first place? Like yeah. Jhin, one of the newest champions, he totally fucknig needed 3 skins in a year, while Yorick had to wait 6 years for one god damn skin, and Illaoi, who was released before him STILL HASN'T GOTTEN HER FIRST SKIN, AND WE JUST GOT TO VOTE ON WHAT THE CONCEPT MIGHT BE, SO WE'RE CLEARLY MONTHS AND MONTHS OUT FROM AN ACTUAL RELEASE. But yeah, let's keep making an ahri skin every 5 months on average, and some more Ez, Annie and Teemo skins too. They all need to be further in the fucking double digits of skins.

why do ppl still ignore the main reason for a champ to get a skin? if their playrate sucks how will riot make money out of making skin for champ that not much play. riot gotta earn something u know? they see that everyone buys instantly every skin they make for annie or nidalee for example they wont make udyr skin cuz he is not so popular and also because he has legendary skin. also they would benefit the most out of yasuo skin in theory cuz alot ppl like him and his skins are pretty dope.

Jhin is not even that popular champion. There are more popular ones. Like above.

2 new skins in one year has no excuse.

I could accept every popular champion getting a new skin every year but not a popular champion having +2 skins in a year. If your goal is to gain money, fine. But make it diverse. Not in this bullshit way.

It's not that he doesn't fit, it's that he already has a decently-sized skin catalogue relative to how long he's been in the game, and other champions probably would have fit the theme better. It feels like Riot just picked Jhin because (1) he's popular and (2) he could conceivably fit the PROJECT universe, rather than picking the best candidate for that spot.

Simple reason: Popularity.

Now, that doesn't mean less popular champions deserve to die off in terms of creativity with 1 measly skin in two years but think of the thematic. Project skin line fits him well, not Taliyah (for example). SO why hold his Project thematic for who knows how long because people think he had enough skins for this year?

Skins and skin themes don't grow on trees. Riot has a crapton of them floating around but exploration and ideation into many of them is discarded until there's just the right fit for the right champion. Jhin's could very well fit the theme of Project skins and Riot had a perfect match for him, with the Project: Hunters already. So why hold him off for a year?

I honestly don't care who gets a skin. If it isn't MissFortune, then it kind of just blows right over me. I mean, it is kind of ridiculous that he is getting 3 skins in total, 2 if you don't want to count the worlds skin.

(I do because it is a high quality skin compared to other skins)
