Can we just admit that TSM is a region killer only?

They're actually the worst when it comes to international play for whatever reason. They can't even take on the easiest groups with straight up newcomers beating them.

Only the fanboys can't.

I don't even get what happened there. From the games I watched that TSM is not the TSM that was playing during the split.

Bjerg never roamed or pressured the jungle with Sven which was such a strong pressure point for TSM, the constant harassment meaning the other jungler couldn't get a foothold. Instead Bjerg just stayed in lane farming, even on a bunch of Ryze where he just never roamed or used his ult.

TSM have also been praised for adaptation in the past and instead Parth just went "Well, Twitch/Ryze didn't work last time, let's try it again." Ryze never did much of anything where they could've used someone with burst or waveclear to threaten someone squishy or just clear until lat game. Instead in multiple games they played safe without any and just let them take turret after turret after turret.

Like, in that last tiebreaker game Trist was up. And that's the champ Doublelift was performing on. Instead they were like "Let's pick Kog with Lulu banned."

I'm not even joking when I think Parth might be sabotaging them at international tournaments. Although even he's not responsible for the lack of presence Sven had. Every time Maxlore made a move, Sven was just farming. He did nothing. Like I could see that game as one of mine.

Top: "Their junglers camping top can I get a gank?" Jungle: "Nah, gotta finish this shit, I'll come in a bit." Top: "He's got another gank when you getting here?" Jungle: "Hey, it's not my job to win your lane"

Like, this is stupid disappointing because this was THE group TSM should've easily gotten out of and not only did they not, they underperformed so much they had some of, if not the, weakest early game stats in the tournament. And that's even compared to a team that went 0-6. There was literally no reason for TSM to have played this bad, picked themselves into such a corner, and not done any kind of adaptation when it didn't work. Like, I'm starting to believe the script conspiracies because there's no reason Misfits should be better than TSM. I mean TSM just went 8-1 at Rift Rivals against EU and now they suddenly can't play against them.

Edit: Oh and let's not forget "Janna's fucking OP Broken as shit, but hey let's waste a ban on it on blue side and the one time we decide not to just give it up to the opposing team" FUCKING PARTH

bjergsen is heavily overrated tbh

if they cant fix his passive style in international since S5 MSI, they need to find someone like perkz

TwitchInMyPants10/14/2017, 4:51:23 PM6 votes

If NA loses to TSM that chokes on worlds all the time and their playstyle relies on coming back mid-late game then the teams suck

Like Korea is the region you need to be able to keep up with to have a shot at winning the whole thing and they have adaptive playstyles that can switch from full on aggression to calculated passive play and they draft champions that are usually adaptable all game. They don't fall behind early then hope they get one good teamfight, they keep pressure up even when behind to control their enemies aggression.

There's a reason I tell people NA only gets 2 seeds at worlds. We have to send TSM every year...

Mizaya10/14/2017, 4:47:18 PM2 votes

Idk, no one in NA is good enough anyways, would be great if there were other teams to challenge TSM. As it stands their region is just not good enough to prepare them for international play. Can only hope C9 does better at this point.

Cynicatt10/15/2017, 1:55:07 AM2 votes

how come NA consistently underperforms at worlds and yet they continue to sign the same players over and over? surely there are players out there that are more skilled and more qualified to represent us. these players are so comfortable with failure because they still get their paycheck even if they suck... they just don't have the determination to succeed like other regions teams do.

General Esdeath 10/15/2017, 8:39:53 AM1 votes

TSM needs to stop picking Ryze imo, Bjerg's roams on him aren't that great.

Blåbæret10/15/2017, 10:54:58 AM1 votes

Why's anyone surprised they didn't make it? Everyone knows TSM is a fanboy-based team: They are overhyped and not particularly good. TSM is a notorious meta team which is incapable of picking something that could swing in their favour.

Nothing new here, moving on.

Miku Append10/15/2017, 1:48:27 PM1 votes

NA teams need to be held to Korean standards or need to get out. If you can't compete, go home.

DotEleven10/15/2017, 8:15:39 PM1 votes

As an update here, Parth is no longer coach of TSM. Not sure if he's gonna be completely gone from the organization but he's stated it was his last time on stage.

I'm actually starting to think they'd be better off if they aimed for the play-in stages. I think we need to admit they just don't get the international game at all.

That said, NA as a whole is trash compared to Korea or China and I can't help but wonder if riot is contributing to it.

AirKingNeo10/14/2017, 7:54:35 PM1 votes

Just like G2. A region killer.

Speerhausen10/15/2017, 4:19:19 AM1 votes

This worlds I didn't support any NA team. I supported GAM because they gave me my meta-breaking fix. I don't watch worlds with any hope of NA dominance, I watch it to see interesting matches.

Falcon Of Death10/15/2017, 4:48:11 AM1 votes

they need to dump their whole team and just get new players lol

Heck, even the difference between Week 1 and Week 2 of Groups shows a huge difference in TSM.

It just legit felt like TSM wasn't even trying to win in Week 2. Even their single win in Week 2 didn't feel like they won, and more that Misfits played a piss poor comp that just couldn't win.

It honestly felt like they were doing their very best to not win at worlds for whatever reason.

That's not to say their Week 1 performance was spectacular. It definitely wasn't horrible, but it wasn't the level they were playing before.

But the Week 1 performance is easy to explain. They always have this strange habit of either just playing what they feel is meta for international events even though it doesn't suit them. Or they fall on what they feel is most comfortable even if it's inferior.

But yeah, that Week 2 performance just felt like they were intentionally losing when you compare it to their Week 1 and Split performance.
