They really closing the boards after all what they did to make boards look better?

Board visual changes and features in the past two years were done by the Volunteer Moderation Team and the Volunteer Board Developers. We were not involved in the decision to shut down the boards.

All of what? The only change I can recall in Boards' existence is the fancy highlight/etc. that no one uses.
