What's the difference between me abandoning my adc because they suck at 3mins...

...and sitting mid from the beginning? Any support who climbs completely abandons a lot of adcs ¯_(ツ)_/¯

the difference is you would have won mid for 3 extra minutes, while bot is still as reliable as craps.

The difference is adc probably will get shoved into tower and fall further behind in gold and possibly xp. You slow down the midlaner too in xp.

Plus just leaving adc because you feel they suck is a very defeatist attitude. I do think roaming as a support is good and it helps you climb, but just abandoning the adc because you couldn’t bother with them is counterintuitive to a duo lane.

Edit: I have a friend where we have a meme that his power spike as an adc doesn’t come on until about 10 min. Because he has a tendency to just suck early laning phase. But then he ends up carrying his games often. So giving up and designating your adc as “garbage they suck”, 3 min into the match is just mind blowing.

ADCs scale. 3 minutes is not enough time to decide they're not worth helping and leaving them. You just put them further behind. If you stay, they might pull through and at least contribute to the late game. If you leave, you guarantee that they'll be useless.

Going mid also sets your midlaner behind. There's a reason they aren't in botlane with you. They need levels AND gold to scale. They can't afford to split it with a support.

There is never a good reason to abandon the bot lane as support. Yes, they might suck, but you aren't going to improve your chances of winning by trying to support another lane. Suck it up and stay where you're needed most.
