Shoutout to Thoros of Myr, most relatable Game of Thrones character [SPOILERS]
What an underappreciated character. We hear references about his deeds starting in season 1, from Barristan the Bold, Jorah the Andal, and even the Kingslayer Jamie Lannister. First through the breach at the Siege of Pyke, wielding a flaming sword.
"I've always been a terrible priest. Drank too much rum. Fucked all the whores in King's Landing."
We meet him as a man who only came out of a chronic crisis of faith after the death of his friend, an event which catalyzes one of the most sincere deliveries of the entire series: "...I said the old words. Not because I believed in them, but he was my friend.... and he was dead. And they were only words I knew."
He bravely resists the status quo of Westoros's feudal system, until being sent North on a holy mission, leading to another amazing exchange with Jorah the Andal:
Jorah: "I thought you were the bravest man I'd ever saw." Thoros: "Just the drunkest."
