Well, you've completely changed Aatrox and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

The whole reason why I liked Aatrox was because he was a Drain Tank, or a Vampiric auto attack based fighter, now he's fucking Riven with built in sustain and a revive. It's actually the same combo as Riven, where you E to dash in, you W and then press Q 3 times. Wow, I really nice job. He didn't even need help, he has a 51.81% winrate and a 4% pick rate, which the pickrate wasn't that high because he's been shit for so long, people just assume he's a shit champion. I don't know Riot, everytime you update a champion, you completely change their identity. This isn't even the same champion anymore, the only thing that is comparable is his ult, and thats it. It might as well be a new champion release, which i'm sick and tired of. I can't even play Yorick anymore because he's far worse than what he was before, hell, i think his playrate is actually lower than it was before. Just because a champions playrate "isn't where it should be", doesn't mean you completely overhaul the champion completely.

Idk, that's just my verdict on a champion i've been playing for 4 years.

I can understand them re-working the kit to some degree and understanding it. They seem to be re-working abilities that are more or less useless to champions when that rework wouldn't ruin another playstyle if that makes sense. For example, AD Ezreal's W is useless to him, but it's core to AP Ez, so I don't see them changing it. Aatrox E on the other hand is useless to AD, and AP doesn't exist, so that much makes sense to me. The lack of auto focus is a little disappointing. Both his gameplay and VO feel like they're stepping on Rhaast's toes hardcore. I like the idea of Darkin with different personalities, but like these guys are identical. I don't mind the gameplay TOO much, in fact it actually looks really fun, but it does feel like a missed mark on the rework :/

I feel the same way man. I liked to play Aatrox since his release and it was mostly because of his VO and his unique mechanics with manipulating your health as mana\energy. And now this... they turned him into generic villian from cartoon for 10 yo and everything that was cool and unique in his old kit is gone. It's a horrible rework, probably worst.

Petition for revert please. He has become my religion over these 4 years and I don't see why they should remove such an up to date champion to begin with. The design was amazing, they are ruining and disrespecting their own work if this replacement goes through.

Come have a look at this. Help gather people. There might be a way out. Aatrox was a pretty modern feeling champ in a very good spot, no reason to remove him. We need the new one to be as close to the original as possible. Either change the rework to be more like Aatrox or release it as a new champion.

We also need to expand elsewhere, good points of interest would gbay's video on why Aatrox was the best designed champion, Hashinshin, and perhaps Boxerpete. This is no longer even just Aatrox, but all the various mains' problem who received a VGU that drastically changed their beloved champion's identity. Riot reached the pinnacle here though. This type of rework was not needed.
