Harrowings skins for this year a bit lackluster?

What happened? I used to look forward to the Harrowing/Christmas skins each year, they are usually great with a lot of wacky costumes and idea's behind them that remind me of the respective holidays they are themed after.

This year all three skins do not in the least seem that "Halloweeny" at all to me, they look like they are all from a regular skin line with all three skins look really really similar to each other instead of each one having it's own theme for that character related to Halloween or something.

Why the change?

A Rioter replied to a comment on one of the feedback threads for one of this year’s skins. The tldr of her response was that not every year is the same. Some years they do goofy costumes like officer vi, some years they do stereotypical Halloween stuff like last year’s skins, and this year happens to be a year where they do more shadow isles/spectral kinda stuff (not goofy). They change the theme up every year.

i feel like they didnt put much effort in the effect like they copy pasted the colors and ideas from skin to skin also 2 assassins and a minlaner wow :/

I believe KateyKhaos mentioned on the PBE thread that this year they were more of a "Tales from the RIft" theme. So, it's why they kind of look like something from the Shadow Isles.

pretty sure these aren't even supposed to be harrowing skins tbh. You might be jumping the gun here, harrowing skins will be released soon i think

yep, 100% missed the mark for me.

I like the Viktor skin, and Kat looks okay, but the Zed skin is just not that good

Also I preferred when Riot made Halloween skins that were fun (like Mundo Mundo, Bewitched Tristana, etc.) Those skins will always be cooler than some wanna-be-scary skins like these ones.

They did a similar style of skin before with Leblanc and Twisted Fate I guess, but those ones were actually cool because those champions needed more unique skins, Katarina and Zed skins just seem played out now because there are like 1000 of them for each champ
