The good thing about being an SUP/ADC main

JavelinJoe··2 votes·573 views

I can put SUP and ADC in either order of preference and still get Support 75-90% of the time. And since there is no auto-fill because it would just be SUP or ADC I am guaranteed one of my main roles. There is just 1 issue. 75-90% of the time I play support. I want to ADC at least once in a while... Especially since I put it as primary.

This is why you don't have support as one of your two roles unless you want to main support.

So here's what you do, after every game you play as support, you queue up as ADC/Mid. You're much more likely to get ADC than mid. This'll work because every time you play support, you get one game of autofill protection unless someone dodges in the next champ select.

I would except I suck at a lot of the current "META" mid champions (Assassins). My third role is top but that is usually not as common as ADC so I would likely get that over it.

Picking ADC/Top is fine.

Also don't play meta champs if you aren't good with them. If you go wherever and the champs you like and are good with aren't meta, play them anyway.

Well I have not played top consistently in a few months so there is that too. Back then ADC was pretty popular and TOP was not quite as popular I guess since I would get it all the time.

I get that I do not need to play meta champs, but they counter most of my best mid champions Lux AurelionSol and Malzahar was another before he was further messed with and designated to the support role.

Real good thing about putting sup/adc as your roles: You can make sure you have item 3107 item 3190 every game instead of having some bimbo build something stupid like item 3742 .

Like...it's hilarious to know that people honestly think that anything else compares.

yeah that is a plus

I don't see anything wrong with item 3742 tbh. I build it sometimes on Leona So I can just E in, auto for the slow, and Q him after a second past. With the extra movement speed is not half bad in catch up to grab any of non-mobile enemies trying to run away. Plus it gives life and armor with a decent passive.

I agree. I like when people give me freelo. Keep building non-support items while I build potentially thousands of bonus health value for my team.

Sometime when you're a tank, you need that extra bit of life and armor. Because a Leona tend to get people to attack her since she can just CC all day long. Like locket and redemption is still useful to build, Jump in, tank, shields stack, and heal. Like if you're not going to build tanky on a tanky support that jumps in, you're gonna die and feed.

I looked at you match history and noticed you like to one-trick sona, which is not bad, but she is an AP support unlike tanky supports. And scrolling down till your game you played in 8/2/2016 where I finally seen you played a tanky support, Taric. Which you gone 2/4/5 and lost. And your ADC did pretty well with 10/5/3 tells me that you weren't with her for at 5 kills and 1 assist at best.

I's say you're words is not so much as reliable for tank supports play style since you don't do as well with tank supports. But you run a pretty good Sona games to get to Diamond V. But in that logic, its a moronic move to build deadmans on champs like sona. But champions like Taric and Leona, can get away with it since they can proc the passive slow and follow up with a stun or visa-versa. At least that's a viable build item in Bronze/gold so far as I played with these kind of people pretty often.

  • You do realize I didn't even have a jungler that game, right? To boot, my Varus was apparently 0/10/1. So you're digging up a game where I have basically no jungler, no front line, and a massively feeding carry pick from LAST YEAR to go and say "Man you didn't do that hot, buddy. Maybe you should stay your lane."? Is this REALLY what you're doing?

  • The game environment now is WAY different than it was before. Locket's shield is bigger on its initial cast and the MR aura was removed, making it a better general item and a worse item for specifically countering mages. Redemption didn't even exist back then. What I'm saying now isn't going to be refuted by some auto-loss game from Season 6 where I had Elise with no Smite and a potato playing Varus.

Still, I'm not going to stop you from wasting 2.9k gold on an item you don't need. Go ahead and build DMP. Diamond 3's my goal and, honestly, I've been preying on people building crap like that to win more games. By all means.

I was pointing out that your last tank game was ages ago, and you didn't so well regardless of what your team did. I didn't insult you or anything of the sort. Chill for a bit and open your mind. You can't really judge something if you don't play it. Its like reviewing a game without even playing it.

By no means of evidence that you have any proof that Dead-mans Plate is such of a terrible item as you claim. Besides, with you playing with Sona and "preying" on people who build it is because you're playing an AP and not AD as it don't offer MR. Its still good vs comps with their carries being AD. I'm just saying its not as bad of an item as you claim it to be. Its just not an item you build every game, its more on a situational item level.

Like you're not going to build a Maw of Malmortius vs a full AD comp.

So because I play enchanters, I can't tell that building Redemption and Locket over my opponent and their lousy itemization is giving me a major edge in the game? So I have to play top lane to know that Maoki should build Spirit Visage?

By no means of evidence that you have any proof that Dead-mans Plate is such of a terrible item as you claim.

You're hellbent on believing that support itemization is varied and full of smart, rewarding choices based on champ selection and in-game stimuli. It honestly isn't. Pick the most op support effects...that's basically it. You saw the last Nautilus and said "But you have some ad champs". If that's the case, you saw the previous Nautilus who build DMP and Randuin's while we had a Morde top/Zed mid/Udyr jg/Twitch adc. Whole team lacked team fight cc save Udyr punches and my ult, and we barely managed to clutch it out and win because I was saving people from their fed Akali repeatedly. Meanwhile this Nautilus thinks he's contributing anything at all with these expensive items.

In neither of these games did I have a full ad comp, and Locket's shield and Redemption's healing both don't care about ad or ap damage typing. To boot, Locket still gives some armor while you build it.

Yes, the item's not good to build. He could build Locket, then he could build Knight's Vow. If he really needed to, IBG/Frozen Heart/Banner. Redemption even has HP on it so I don't see the issue. There's a decent amount of items he could have built over DMP.

Now, I'd still say that Locket and Redemption are priority in that list of items, but ANY of those items are still better.

But like I said, it's your funeral. It won't even bite you as hard as it could because there's more people out there that think like you, so you won't be at a bad disadvantage if you show up with a Ruby SS + DMP and they show up with like...eh...tier 3 gold item + Ruby SS as their first two full build items. By all means, go ahead.

I actually get filled into jungle quite frequently. Which is my most hated role, much more than support. I would rather support over jungle any day of the week.

ThePikol1 votes

I put mid/supp, jg/supp and still get my first role. Then someone dodges and I get supp. Also when I queue as supp/fill, 4 dodges and got autofilled top XD

Titanium701 votes

What exactly are you talking about? I can't agree to any of this.

First of all I get Auto-Top more often than Supp. Second they drasticly increased the chances getting your Primary since a while now. Even with MId first Supp Second I have like 80%Mid.

That being said I have to add: I play mostly Normals and some low Plat games so... their could be different values for different Elos.

Maybe, I am silv 3 and mostly play ranked and other game modes (ARAM and weekend gamemodes) and I almost always get Support. op.gg even says I play 80% support and 20% ADC lol. (I queue with ADC as first priority btw).
