I feel that a large part of why players do not get pink wards is that they are hidden at the bottom of the page where you have to scroll down to see them. Basically out of sight, out of mind. I bet if the consumables section was merged with the starting items section, many more players would purchase them because they are right there in their face.

I always suggest that my friends make custom item sets, particularly if they are newish to the game, just so everything they actually want is there without having to sort through all the stuff they don't want.

buying pinks is really more a matter of player habit than anything else. I always keep a pink ward up in the enemy jungle when i'm playing ori or ziggs just as a matter of personal safety on the other hand i haven't gotten good at placing pink wards while playing top or adc yet i have a custom item set out so i can quickly get to the pinks on ori, whereas i just find them on ziggs
at the end of the day however i see no reason why having the pink wards at the top of the page would not be beneficial. I say, go for it

KevinDelMarr2 votesI don't buy pink wards because I don't feel confident I use them right, or I will buy one and it will be killed 10 seconds later (which has happened before). When all wards cost money I did, but now I am hesitant even though good players use them all the time. It's true that by being on the bottom players are less likely to buy them, but when wards are free and pink wards are visible, it feels better to not buy them.
To a lot of players 75 is a lot of gold early on.
kile1471 votesThe nice thing about them being permanent is that you can throw them down anywhere and it may save a life. If you are concerned about losing the ward then put it somewhere defensive and even though it won't do a lot of good, it will stay there for a very long time and can give you vital information at an important time.

MÖRTIMER2 votesOr people could "get good" and realize how valuable pinks are. A 75 gold ward that is permanent until destroyed, gives vision on champs as well as enemy vision, and puts a delay on ganks. Thats free win. It should be the first thing people look up in shop
