Can Caitlyn's traps get an outline when behind the environment?

Similar to how some traps look in brush, it would be nice to have the same effect on Caitlyn's traps when they are placed behind towers. I hate having just walked back to lane, only to step on a trap that I had no way of knowing was there, and get chunked for 25% or so of my health before I even reach the minions. I get the strategy of placing them out of sight, but when you can take that much damage from just steeping on one, and Caitlyn can even be pretty far away too, it just is unfair. So by having just a small outline of of the trap or something, it would not hinder her ability to be aggressive with her placements where they woulds be ineffective, but it would allow the opponents to have some indicator if they are paying enough attention. Brush and other stuff is fine as is, but behind towers (and things like that) are not fair for the traps to be invisible behind.

I am a heavy cait player, even before her recent popularity. I think that invis traps behind turrets are a real power she just doesn't need. +1

That is the first reasonable nerf suggestion for Caitlyn I read in a while. Many people are suggesting to actually remove her strength of sieging and zone denial by making traps targetable or disappear faster if placed under a tower. Some even suggested that minions should trigger the trap.... All that would just remove her identity of being the siege adc.

Her traps are there to deny you specific walking paths and siege a tower. That's why they are not invisible like other traps in the first place. To fulfill this purpose, there is no need for them to be hidden behind a tower. They should be visible as long as they are not placed in a brush.

+1 for you

The problem with her sieging identity is that she creates the most boring, passive botlane experience for her opponents. Against her you can either a.) farm passively under tower and do nothing else or b.) attempt to cross the line she put in 5 inches in front of your tower and get nuked with zero counterplay from half a screen away. Champions have been nerfed and reworked for "being oppressive lane bullies" for far less.

She should have her identity, but game health is more important. It should be nerfed early at least; something like traps lasting 60/45/30/15/0% shorter under towers. Make them scale with champion levels instead of ability levels so she doesn't have to level it first. Against other lane bullies I can at least try to play - Caitlyn completely denies me that.

You can walk between traps fairly easily. It only punishes you if you make simple move actions instead of purposefully walking around them.

Sure it sucks when you mess up, but then again, you made a mistake. Perhaps the bonus range should scale differently with level though. A bit less early on would be nice.

While yes, you can walk between each trap, having to constantly be doing so not only slows you down because of the longer pathing choice you had to take, but also, sometimes minions block your path forcing you to step on one which then would not be your fault.

Technically still yohr fault for not watching and adjusting, but it's an easy mistake to make.

I wouldn't call it boring passive, I'd call it clinging on to life lmao

This isn't actually a nerf suggestion, it's removing power that shouldn't even be in the game. Riot made an indicator to distinguish Zed ult's shadow from his w shadow because they said he should not have power simply because the enemy can't see what he's doing.

Nope, I am also a heavy cait player and I intentionally abuse this to high hell.

no you're a fat cait player because you keep getting fed from trapping yordles and eating them

950k Caitlyn main here. This would be a good idea to seperate the bad caitlyns from the good Caitlyns. Fully agree +1.

Also remove the headshot from her net and give her Q a buff.

You don't enjoy having a whole ability purely for waveclear?

I found out that they were invisible one time. I now never step behind my turret ever again just in case.

You can do a similar thing the Zz'rot portal. I saw it in one of Gbay99's stream where if you place it on the botlane redside outer turret, it is impossible to click on without destroying the tower first.

Yeah, cait's traps are downright ridiculous.

Why not just make things like this have to be placed at least 250 unites away from the turrets?

You should just never step behind your tower if cait is in the game.
