I think it's interesting how almost the entire community wants something so simple / beneficial to Riot's $$$ but it gets put off until some "Rotating Queue". Give us URF!!

I literally used a week's vacation to take off work for the next 7 days so I could enjoy URF since it only comes around once a year.... I look forward to URF more than any holiday or birthday. UGH Im so sad, now I get to spend the next 7 days sitting at home with nothing to do but hate Riot.
I'm still waiting to play NURF...
The Draven heads are horrible, why Riot thought this would be acceptable in place of URF is beyond me.

I waited a whole year and me and all of my friends just sit around talking about URF and how excited we are for it and talk about some inside jokes and strategies. URF helped me be happy through a hard time and to not see it this year makes me truly sad... Please Rito you already released bard... you troll us enough all year long... Just let us have this one thing just for a while.

Gotta say losing my love for URF cause of you asshats. This bullshit literally stymies any kind of creative freedom Riot has. They've already bloody announced that URF will make appearances later this year.
Last year during April, my unit was overseas on deployment in Kuwait and Iraq. During this deployment, I learned that some of my battle buddies were league fans and even had a few occasions to play league together during out pre deployment phase and it helped them settle their minds.
None the less, during April we started talking about how amazing URF mode was the year before and how we wished we were able to play the game mode together. We also talked about how it we would be back home to enjoy the mode in 2016 since we would be coming home a month before April.
2 extensions and 26 months later, we all came back late February of 2016. Needless to say, we were excited to come back to our wives, children for those of us that had them, and our civilian lives. We kept in touch and started playing league together when we could. Talk of finally getting to play URF together after missing it the previous year.
Well, we all know how this story turned out. Long story short, URF to my fellow battles and I was going to be a 2 week holiday during our recovery period after deployment to really get to know, connect, play together, and learn more about each other. This same feeling is felt by the majority of the League Community as well.
I'm not sure why I'm really writing all of this. I suppose it's with a heavy heart and maybe even out of frustration, but seeing a tradition being replaced by something else was rather disheartening. Please, RIOT, keep the very much loved tradition alive! We are all still hurting from our tradition of Hide and Seek being destroyed with the removal of Dominion. I even wrote about this as well, but I digress.

Been playing this game for four years maybe more. I wrote on forums twice. Vuck riot! We wanted urf. So disappointing.
The thing is that there's no reason NOT to release it to us.

"Almost the entire community" is a very large statement to make. I think you mean there is a vocal group of folks who wanted Urf to happen. I'd honestly wager that most of the community hasn't even commented on this specific event at all. Urf would have been cool, but I think this Draven event is a lot of fun. You should give it a go.
Let's get some more positive vibes up in here. :]

Wow, does this not scream just how entitled this community is. We don't want to wait for 2 weeks of URF when rotating queue comes out, we want our week or URF NOW, NOW, NOW. And then you hide behind cries of corporate greed on Riot's end, just because they released Joke Skins, like they do every April Fool's Day. The only thing they didn't do was URF, and it was explained well in advance. If people would keep up with the media Riot puts out, they would know this. This would not be a surprise.
How are you going to blame a company that tells you in advance that they're going to do something nice, at the cost of something you would like to happen just one time. They said, (paraphrased) "we know the community loves urf mode, and we get it. But this year, we're working to bring in a rotating queue, so that you can experience urf more often during the year, as well as other fun game modes that used to just be temporary."
But no, this thread is just the equivalent of the children banging on the the table for their dessert, pissing and moaning about how much they think they deserve instant gratification because they shouted loud enough.
I read the article when they released it, about urf not coming april first and i did take it seriously. I was crushed then and i'm still crushed and utterly disappointed. I love riot for bringing in the rotating queue thing, and draven day was humorous.. for a very short while.. but what i fail to understand is how riot could take away what was essentially a religious holiday in the league community. URF was like Christmas, or Hanukkah, something everyone waited an entire year for in giddy anticipation. so, with that being said, and with a large majority of the league community being upset by this i have to ask. why couldn't you just release urf on the day that we all waited for and expected it to appear on? Is it effecting your rotating queue progress? i really just want to know the reason why you intentionally let so many people down, despite the promises of the rotating queue and urf more than once a year.
Since when does people playing URF make them want to go, "HEY, I SHOULD BUY THAT SKIN I'VE WANTED FOR AWHILE NOW, BUT ONLY IF I CAN USE IT TO PLAY MUH URF HURRDurR"
Or something like that...
