The "got chest already" champion border should appear in champion select

Especially in fun game modes like ARAM, Poro King, etc... It would be nice to know what you still have yet to get a chest on when you cant decide if/who you want to play.

I feel like you shouldn't be limited to 1 chest per champion. If I carry as Kayle, I should get the chest as long as I got the S and I have a chest available. I shouldn't need to play champions I don't know.

Well, I feel that with the way chests are, it will force you to try out something new rather then playing the champion over and over. And who knows, you might find a champion you like more then Kayle.

So, any champion?

maybe a chest for each tier of S. (s-, s, and s+)

Eh it would seem weird if your first chest earned was through a S+ and now in order to get the other two is to aim for a lower grade by trying to play slightly or even dramatically worse depending on the player skill cap between them.

I think the current system isn't unfair really at all. Since the chest cap is 4 currently the requirement of 4 S Mastery Champions you are able to demonstrate isn't a ridiculous notion to consider the average player unable to accomplish. The majority of people who would not be able to achieve this will consist of the one trick ponies who refuse to put the time into starting over and putting time into struggling and mastering a new champ. The more champs your are capable of scoring high with will in fact even help push you to be a better player with better adaptability and play styles. In fact because it must be a new champ to get another chest you are, vastly unconsidered or acknowledged, being rewarded for learning and mastering more champs, not being denied free chests.

It would not work like that. You would need the grade or higher like it is right now. Currently, and S grade gives you a chest. This would be set up where for S- chest, you would just need any S grade, an S chest would need an S or an S+, and an S+ chest would need an S+. This would also work where it fulfills the highest grade first. So if you got an S+, it would not fill the S- or S chest slot unless the S+ was achieved already, in which case it would then fill the S chest slot, unless that was already filled too, making it then fill the S- chest slot.

Also, that is 4 S mastery champions per month. meaning you need closer to about 40- 50 ish S mastery champions (and only one each week too) to get most if not all chests for a season. Basically I have to master a new champion each week to get myself an S rank to be efficient. IDK about you, but I don't want to have to learn a new champion each week. Sometimes I enjoy a role or a specific group of champions that I am good at and do not want to have to play 20 or so games in order to learn a new champion for a chance at getting an S grade which may not even happen within that week or even month.

I don't mean to revive a stale post but I also don't like not responding to someone with a valid point.

Thanks for clearing that up for me that is how it actually works. Honestly that is insane, I didn't realize it was 1 S on a Champ per season for a chest then they can never earn it again for the rest of the season. That's ridiculous. Hell once a month would be better than that. I doubt the majority of the player base is capable of that many S mastery champions. The system definitely needs to be looked at again, I understand it needs to be somewhat difficult so earning chests doesn't kill the store, Riot needs to make their money somewhere and I imagine skins is their number one way of doing it if not its got to be close to that spot. But the loot system needs to be looked at a little more and could definitely use some love and some fairness for the less skilled players like me lol. Now I understand why I don't usually get chests on my mains even with S+, I already got it at some point.

I'm fine with the chest system. I just wish that you didn't have to own the champion to get key fragments. In the video for the honor system, it said you randomly get key fragments just for playing. They didn't say playing champions you own, but it's still in affect.

Interesting, never knew this existed. Is it kept updated? I still wish this was in the game, but for now, I guess this will have to do.

MonkeyMadness5 votes

Agreed. Don't do this in ranked or you will end up with trolls picking champs for the first time in ranked just to get the boxes.

Sun Wu Ryuumoku3 votes

totaly agreeing on this... they already "trolls picks" without caring about boxe, don't make their numbers rise up

Cowseed2 votes

What? Dude, they would still have a good idea as to what they haven't gotten chest with yet. I really don't think they care because not everyone is able to get Ss on their first try.

You can't just make trolls and griefers dictate all of league.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

You need to differentiate between what I like to call "active" trolls and "passive" trolls. A passive troll is someone who willfully commits an action that puts the team at a disadvantage, but may not understand that disadvantage usually due to a failure to understand his or her own limitations as a player. An active troll is someone that actually tries to lose the game. Both are pure cancer and cause this community to be shit, but there is a distinct difference.

Helpful Hint: Open up a new notepad/word document (wherever you can type a list) Make a list of all the champions you own erase the names of the champions you currently already have a chest with Tadah! you now have a list of champions you don't already have a chest with.

Mcsquzzy1 votes

i think making that and instead putting a mark next to them would be a better option since there are 13X champions (X is whatever the current ones digit is since it has changed alot recently)

Maybe it could be a small icon at the bottom right of the portrait.

Support Stigma2 votes

No one pointing out OP said we need it for choosing champs in aram. [slayer-jinx-wink]

JavelinJoe1 votes

I said deciding on if/who also, meaning that if you want to re-roll said champion or who you chose to play in pick/bans.

Weasel Kensei1 votes

Iv also mentioned that in the "sort" options, there should be 'sort by chest obtained.'

A little "chest" icon on the champs border when selecting would be great too.

phavabean1 votes

could just use same icon from the champ page

SoryInAdvance1 votes

What difference would it make in aram? You don't get to pick the champion. It would just be a matter of deciding to try hard, screw around, or reroll i guess.

JavelinJoe1 votes

Well, ARAM is one of the places where you can get a chest for an S rank where you do not have to necessarily play the champion as intended like on SR. It is a way to get some S chests on champions who you do not normally play also. So by knowing, you can RR to try for a champion who you do not yet have a chest on if the one you currently have has already gotten a chest. This would just inform you for the most part.
