People that cry about Riven need to realize that while she may have an amazing early game if you play smart and farm up (even under tower if you have to) she is trash later on especially if you don't feed her.

LordDarkshayde5 votesI have faced many Rivens in my time playing league and I am telling you how to beat her. If you don't want advice on the subject then don't bother posting in the first place. Also, just because she has a high winrate does not mean she is broken it simply means people don't play smart against her and I'm sure that there are more than a few of those games in that winrate where she got carried because people didn't feed her early to begin with. If she is so obviously broken why do you never see her in LCS play at all?

Stacking armor is pretty hard when you're zoned and oneshotted by Riven.

T'is why you need well timed ganks like I just kind of said...and stacking armor is easy given any situation, the items are very cheap and insanely effective on malphite. If you think a malphite with ~200 armor after a Frozen Heart is going to get one shotted by a Riven then I can see why you'd think she's broken, she can't actually do that.
Trash MammaI2 votesI disagree on that, Riven has the same issue as Renekton when it comes to laning. They can both all-in you and cc you while they get their combo off then put enough distance between you and them before you have time to react.
Only difference is Renekton falls off. Riven stays relevant throughout the entire game. If you build damage on Renekton you blow up stupid fast. If you build tank your damage starts to become irrelevant.
If you build damage on Riven you're tanky as shit with a low cd AD scaling shield as well as a ton of cc and mobility. Not to mention having an AD steroid.
Riven's kit is insanely overloaded and she stays relevant throughout the entire game. All of her "counters" at least fall off and suffer from being kited/ignored mid-late game. While she just becomes even more retarded as the game goes on.
She's suppose to be a fighter yet she has: 2 Forms of AoE CC. 5 Forms of AoE damage. 5 Forms of mobility(Flash counted). Why in the world does a fighter get so much shit.
Not to mention armor is pretty useless against her and only becomes more useless late game when armor pen becomes grossly overpowered.
If Riven is allowed to have such retarded mobility and cc along with damage then Garen/Olaf/Darius/Volibear and every other easily kited tank/fighter in the game should be able to.
Downfall2 votesRiven and Renekton both are issues when it comes to laning, which is why you're not going to win a lane against them. By not letting them snowball you are doing your job. You don't have to win the lane to win the game, and Riven does have potential to do well within the entire game with power spikes as well, but it's not a huge issue like you make it out to be if you play not to get yourself fed, but to make sure she doesn't get fed.

With her ult giving an ad steroid she's going to have a ton of damage and since her shield scales with AD and she's most likely going to be building flat ad she's going to be both durable and hit like an assassin mid-late game.
A lot of people argue to just build armor when in reality if you're building armor you're probably a tank, who nobody should be focusing anyway, or a bruiser, who Riven most likely outscales hard anyway. So I find that argument invalid especially since it takes like 3-4 armor items for Rivens damage to finally stop breaking through and neither carries are gonna build that much defense

Except Riven is perfectly capable of 1v5ing, getting kills, and getting out alive if played to her fullest potential. This is also solo queue. It's extremely difficult to get coordination and communication on that level going.
Her kit is retarded because it's overloaded, snowbally, and makes it nearly impossible to punish her mistakes.

Ser Garland1 votesYou do not outplay Riven, Riven outplays you. If you beat a Riven, it was not because you were simply better than her, she just wasn't better than you. Because out there, somewhere, there is a better Riven player who could of beat the strategy you just used.

1 being made for offense only ... she is made to be able to win in the offense ... and succesfull offense is always better than being either passive or defensive
2 being able to snowball
riven is realy annoying becuase she was designed to basicaly wreck stuff ... and thats what she does
other champions who are realy strong on the offense like lb type assasins or darius type fighters those have usualy single purpose behind their offense and a drawback to it lb kills one guy and is able to escape quite good ... but she cant survive getting collapsed on nor she can ignore the frontline as she is squishy darius kills whoever comes close ... but he can be kited by many champs who suck at kiting
then we have riven ... requires skill to be reliable ... but when fed .... well no fed champion who isnt a support requires much skill to play when fed so we have riven ... requires skill to be reliable ... able to win any matchup (even garen) ... able to take on any opponent ... able to outdo most of champions in our game when it comes to strenght and agility
she is a generalist with her only focus in offense ... her kit has little in the meaning of drawacks or holes her enemies can exploit her only weakness is that you need to learn to play her in order to make her work in most of her matchups ... she has a natural adwantage in couple but those are rare
her descritpion is basicaly like this ... a freelo if you spare some time to git gud at her
EndlessSorcerer1 votesAll you really have to do is farm and deny Riven the ability to snowball; on most champions, that's enough to give you a lead. Certain tanks and fighters especially have an easy time against her early due to their high base damages and base stats.
Though, this may be partially due to the fact that I have rune pages with Flat Armor quints and scaling armor seals. I can just pick up an early Cloth Armor and some health against her for survivability early without really having to deviate from my preferred builds. In addition, I tend to play safe early due to personal preference anyways, so I don't really have to change my play-style much.

OperationDEEZ11 votesOppressive in lane, but at the cost of clunky scaling, her skill floor in mid-late game goes through the fucking roof. That's why she has a higher winrate in higher divisions such as plat+.
