Just a Word on Warding..

I'm a support main (although I play other roles too sometimes...cept jg...cant do that) and I ALWAYS buy sightstone and red trinket. However, sometimes I have games where our lane is really behind, and I haven't been able to afford much yet because of it.

Before I explain in a long paragraph where I'm going, here's the tl;dr

Warding is Everyone's Job

I just had a game where our jg was new. As someone who really struggles with jg, I can understand how hard it is, literally the only jungler I can get by with is Rengorino. Ours was an Eve, who decided to come gank our lane (Nami (me) and Ashe vs Ezreal and Naut) when we were both lvl 1, and the enemy was closer to lvl 2 since they had been in lane longer. Well, the Eve went too ham, died, and then we got grabbed and also died, giving the Ezreal 3 kills extremely early in the game. We weren't really able to recover from this, especially when we got 4 man ganked under our own turret. It was just a terrible lane, and I really didn't have much money for anything.

I built my support item, while warding and buying pinks inbetween until I could afford sightstone, and then it happened. Our midlaner, who was becoming very passive aggressive, said it.

"We have a support who doesn't ward jg gg"

Now what bothers me is this.

I WAS warding, with whatever wards I had.

I had NO money for sightstone yet but I was building it as fast as possible.

And I have 4 OTHER TEAMMATES who all have wards. I checked the statistics, I warded the same amount as the other support, and the rest of his team HELPED. They had more wards than us because they were warding more often.

Warding is a TEAM.EFFORT.

Yes, the support should be the one to get sightstone and therefore warding the most, but that DOES NOT excuse you from just not warding, or being lazy with it, because 3 sightstone wards and a pink is not enough to ward your whole map. And if the support is struggling to keep everything warded and you haven't made an effort to help, you have absolutely no right to complain about there not being enough wards.

Sightstone gives you 3 wards, when built fully it gives you 4 but you can still only keep 3 on the map at a time not including pinks. So a support can usually place 4 wards at a time one being a pink.

If every other team member has yellow trinket, that's 4 MORE WARDS that could add to the vision, and people just don't do it because they assume it's only the support's job.

WARDS WIN GAMES

AND IT IS A TEAM EFFORT

Don't not ward your jg and then blame the lack of complete vision on your support who has been trying to ward as much as possible, and at max they can only have 3 stealth wards on the map.

You're given wards for a purpose, use them.
