Can Jhin's W not fire until you are in range of where your mouse is?

This happens quite often for me (likely because I smartcast most abilities). I am laying as Jhin and I see a low health target and think that I am in range, so I press W. But I then see my W fall short by about 5 feet of the target. It would be nice if instead of "press w, fire at mouse location instantly" it was "press w, path towards mouse location, once within maximum W range, cast W towards the mouse location where W was initially pressed".

I feel that any champion, but with Jhin specifically because of his "larger than actual screen size" ability range, this could be a great help.

The same thing happens to other champs too. If playing locked screen you'll want to unlock and practice, if not then the big thing is go to normal's and practice different skills on smart cast. If it has a channel time to get bigger, you'll need to hold it down.

You can use quick-cast with indicator. I'm not sure if this your problem but with indicator you can more easily aim his w.

I know of that and that is not what the issue is exactly. I want the ability to only go off if in range, I dont need to see the indicator.

So you want the ability to start only if the target you are aiming is in range? I can't think of any skill shot that works like that.

None do, I want the feature implemented.

I understand but i don't think this will ever be implemented

That type of targeting isn't used on line skillshots. If you're really adamant about not turning on quick-cast with indicators, there's nothing for it but to learn the range better.

to be honest, I would hate if they did this, because I usually cast my w vaguely in a direction, knowing what the range is
