Her abilities have crazy scaling, all she needs is a she has innate sustain, innate tenacity. She can build tanky immediately after triforce and destroy people. Even if you beat her in lane she WILL out scale you very quickly. Why does she get so much for nothing? What is your weakness?! Clearly not cc, cuz muh passive. She jumps around like a grasshopper on crack. Like, why do you have burst and sustain true damage? Get away from me you tentacle haired Ionian psychopath.

Pretty much. They've gutted every other real melee toplaner to the point that maokai and nautilus are starting to become popular up there, BECAUSE THEY CAN CC AND TANK LONG ENOUGH TO 2v1 the enemy toplaner with jungler help.

I played her only in ARAM where it's different, but funny thing is I didn't even finish Trinity. I bought Shen and then full tanky and still scored nice Quadra. Wasn't all-fed monster, but still did nice dmg and fed my teammates.

EDIT: Oh yes, my bad memory. I also bought Phage, then tanky Sirit Visage, Sunfire Cape and not-tanky-but-i-treat-it-like-tank-item Maw.

No, she relies on going even or getting ahead of her lane opponent. If she doesn't, then she becomes rather useless compared to a lot of other top laners that have more cc, more tankiness, and/or better assassinations. She gets a second chance to beat you when she completes Trinity Force, but if she can't beat you then, then you've crushed Irelia.

Irelia's weakness is tanky top laners that she can't get kills on. Anyone with a very strong level two or three can also crush her, since her first powerspike is at level four. A lack of minions to jump on to get increased gap closing distance is also a major issue. She does not jump around like a grasshopper on crack unless there are a lot of low health minions around, and even then, she will jump around predictably, since she can only jump to the low health minions if she wants Bladesurge's cooldown to be refunded. Irelia might have some burst, but it is nowhere near the burst of any assassin. She's got similar burst to Vi. Both of them rely on Spellblade procs to do their damage, and getting those Spellblade procs in a fight takes time. She's got true damage because she'd be completely useless against tanks without it, since she almost never builds armor penetration. Her build has no space for armor penetration. Lastly, she has sustain to make her less of a lane bully. Rather than put all of her power into damage stats and make her a completely feast-or-famine lane bully, they took some of her power budget and gave her sustain. Also, it makes it harder for her to stun targets, because she is forced to regain her health if she's last hitting, and once her health percentage outclasses the opponent's, then she can no longer stun him or her.

There are 11 top champs with better winrate than irelia. She also has at least 8 bad match ups so it's not like she doesn't have counters. She's annoying, but she's by no means unstoppable and the nerf to her ult has given her a clear downtime in which the other guy can do something against her.

Just play safe around her power spikes.

Otherwise, Irelia has a very powerful mid game, but she does fall off late. Throughout the mid game she has the damage to burst down a squishy target relatively quickly, but in the late game she can no longer do this (as she's building tanky after triforce). So sure, she has some damage still to contribute and if her team gets ahead in the fight she's a force to be reckoned with, but in an overall average fight having a more dedicated damage dealer or a more dedicated tank will be more helpful (i.e. Irelia is either relegated to becoming a stun bot or an assassin, except her stun is way weaker than most tank's CC and her assassination potential is way weaker than any typically diver/assassin).

So I'd say force teamfights when she's split pushing, or go gang-bang her. Abuse her pre-triforce (gank her and potentially tower dive), abuse her post triforce (gank her when she's overextended), and abuse her somewhat weak teamfight.

Voli is one of the best champs against her for sure, have to heavily out trade him three times pre-6 if you want a kill, once to remove the passive, another time to get him low, and the last time to kill him. If that happens the voli is just utter shit.

Irelia sucks lategame

All she needs is a Trinity Force is true, but Irelia has had one of the best midgame powerspikes since the beginning of time (W maxed out with Triforce completed is Irelia's time to shine).

Her "innate sustain" is from autoattacking so if she really wants to get a lot of hp back she will be pushing the wave which can be taken advantage of.

Irelia is literally the same she was before except she has more CDR now which made her ult up super often. Then they nerfed her ult cooldown so now there's no problem and Riot should nerf Trinity Force before they touch Irelia again.

And for "innate tenacity": Death is the best cc :^)

All she'll do is intentionally lose the trade so she can suddenly shoot towards you and stun you for a quick 100 - 0. What you need to do to fight her is really just try not to. She is very reliant on her stun so use her sustain against her. If you go in for a kill on her make sure she doesn't have her ult as well. With the new nerfs to her ult level 6 ganks are now able to slaughter her if it's on CD.

Renekton is pretty good on her. He can counter stun her and sustain of creeps better than she does. Also his dash is more reliable and his lvl6 spike is stronger than irelias.

Unless I'm remembering wrong, Q maxed with 40% CDR is on a 3.6 second cooldown.

Edit: Also not sure how reliable your advice might always be, had a quick look at your matches and I'm seeing phantom dancers, duskblades and last whispers all over the shop. Not saying everything you say is wrong but you might want to make some refinements to your regular builds first.

She falls off late game, Her strength is mid game because her W does FLAT true damage and has no scaling. Late game if she tries to jump on the AD she wont be strong enough to burst the carry because of her shitty scaling and will get CC locked and die. She is SUPPOSED to be a monster mid game.

Triforce is strong = Irelia is strong Its always been that way
