It's staggering to me that Riot is actually allowing Ryze to still have a perma snare

And on top of that, he's not even weak early. It's not as if he's terrible early. Once he gets a tear, he's set. This is literally more broken than Release Zyra, I can't even imagine how anyone on the balance team thinks this is okay, This is literally the most absolutely disgusting thing I've ever seen and YOU'RE ALLOWING IT TO REMAIN IN YOUR GAME.

Whoops, I didn't outplay Ryze by banning him in champ select.

Most champs have some kind of gimmick. Perma-snare is just his.

You're making the assumption that all he does is perma snare you. While you're perma snared, you're getting completely shredded. He's DPSing and bursting you at the same time and he basically becomes an unstoppable force once he hits 6. So basically, if you don't absolutely dumpster him pre-6, your lane is completely over and you're not allowed to play the game anymore. That isn't a gimmick. That's game-breaking.

if you think that's disgusting, just wait until the sated devourer goes live next patch instead of getting iceboxed immediately

What is with all these Sated Devourer complaints? The only champion I truly am scared of with this is Master Yi, who gets triple benefits from it. Its a good item that will bring back some currently underwhelming champions, but imbalance a few. Like the AP item changes, we just need to nerf the ones who will go overboard so they will be balanced with the item and then the game will be overall more healthy.

And please dont start talking nonsense about how OP Vayne is going to be with it.

i'll keep this short for the sake of not derailing the thread

there aren't just a few champions that are balanced around being gated by the cooldowns of their on-hit effects. there are too many to list. let's not forget that certain items apply on-hit effects as well

Assuming you cast your spells in such a way that Rune Prison's cooldown gets reduced optimally, for the first round you can reduce its minimum 8.4 cooldown by 7.2 seconds with three other ability casts (2.4*3), allowing you to cast it again while your target is rooted. You'd then be able to cast Q and E again, reducing its cooldown by 4.8 seconds and thereby giving your target 2.2 seconds of movement (3.6 - 1.4, the root duration assuming your target has no Tenacity) before you can root them again, and by that time your passive's cooldown reduction will have ended. You can root your target for up to 2.8 seconds, which is a lot, but you can no longer perma-root them.

I only really have an issue with the constant snares in 1v1 situations; in a teamfight, there are other people around capable of interrupting him.

It might be a bit annoying, but I don't really mind it so long as he doesn't have access to it during laning phase.
