Not a single cho gath nerf on pbe. HAHAHAH

Fuck the 60% ban rate for months, right. Fuck the 6k hp dude, ulting me for 1200 true dmg. Need fucking focus of 5 people to kill that dumbass champ, while he presses 1 button WITHOUT stoneplate for 1200 true dmg. 2400 true dmg with stoneplate. But hey, he outskilled me there right. And not a single nerf on pbe, riot should be fucking ashamed.

With stoneplate gone I'd also like to see adc itemization finally get toned down as well because without stoneplate ADCs will be able to just fucking melt everything after two or so items. At least right now, stoneplate is the only thing that allows you to not get fucking meltified by an adc in 3 seconds.

quasistellar2 votes

Seriously. This item is ruining balance completely.

Melledoneus1 votes

Or we can make it so that stoneplate bonus HP only applies to shield scalings. Boom, problem solved.

Dark Nephthys16 votes

Cho himself is fine, its only the interaction he gets with item 3193 that is the problem. I believe they had a nerf to that interaction a while ago but reverted it, most likely due to not enough time testing. It would most likely be added again in the future, probably after worlds.

Steelflame5 votes

It actually was reverted because fixing Stoneplate completely and utterly broke Kled as a champion. They would have to hard disable Kled to balance out Cho with the change, until they fix the bug with Kled, as if you thing current Stoneplate Cho is bad... at least he isn't a damage immune Kled laughing at your team while killing your towers and nexus untouched.

ChaosThief1 votes

Well to be fair kled could only attack you until juuuust before remount. He could endlessly tank anything though.

Rainfall9 votes

everytime riot goes for a class update they leave a champion broken so people dont complain about the rework. There were 2 candidates for that role in the tank update maokai and cho, they nerfed maokai.

Malicious Metal15 votes

Not disagreeing but Cho's changes weren't part of the tank class update.

Raoul9 votes

Just start to play him Support, he is sure to get nerfed then.

OtterlyLost8 votes

They didn't nerf cho because they're busy destroying Tristana who doesn't deserve it and continuing to ignore Twitch who has been a problem since preseason.

Rathar Dashing3 votes

Hey, it takes a lot of effort to ignore a champion. I'm assuming it takes about 100 hours a week ignoring Mordekaiser

GayFluffyUnicorn1 votes

Tristana has had it coming for a loooong ass time. But here is barely anyone anymore who remembers the old tristana days and how she always used to be broken or garbage tier.

No she hasn't? She's been bad to so-so all season. I get other people might not remember this(they don't main her) but she was at 45-48% winrate at the start of the season and only losing the bottom slots to lucian and Kalista. :/ And even now, she's only at 50% on Op.GG. So does not need or deserve the nerf.

PePsiLemoNN5 votes

More like '' No Cho ult + stoneplate interaction nerf'' .

Steelflame2 votes

They tried to fix Stoneplate but there was a bug with Kled that made Kled even more broken with the "new" stoneplate that makes him damage immune entirely. They would have to flat out disable Kled to just ship a single balance fix for Cho effectively.

Oelyk5 votes

Can they please put less emphasis on HP scaling on ult? It's the dumbest thing and lacks a TON of counter play if he just flashes on you with righteous glory. He's practically a better assassin than Zed.

DorkunedAuras5 votes

You are aware that in order for his ult to do 1200 damage without stoneplate, he needs to have 7500 BONUS HP. For reference, a full Cho'Gath build gets maybe half that and at 160 HP per stack, he needs to get 20+ in order to make up the difference. I'm not sure I believe you.

Anags4 votes

He has a 13% banrate on OP.gg which is the 24th highest.

So....yeah maybe that's why.

Skorch1 votes

40% on LoG which apparently is the most accurate. And also sounds the most right

item 3036 item 3153 item 3371 KogMaw Twitch Vayne Tristana

These are all the things that kill cho easy. The reason they dont nerf cho is because he is as immobile as illao. Obviously summoner 4 item 3800 but they have cd's so he isnt any less mobile thats why they don nerf him because he isnt really a problem.

item 3504 item 3301 Twitch Janna are not nerfed either so what were you expecting? Better buff Lee Sin

build hp so you dont die or buy item 3026

Moon Forcer2 votes

Just remove the health scaling on his ultimate entirely, why the fuck they added it to him in the first place WHILE ALSO MAKING IT SO HE CAN INFINITELY KEEP STACKING ON STUFF THAT ISN'T MINIONS is fucking beyond me.

Just another screw up by our holier than thou Rioters who can NEVER man up and admit when they fuck up then fix what they've done .

Mens Hair Club2 votes

chogath is actually the correct juggernaut design and all others should be balanced with him as the golden standard

King of Demons2 votes

You do realize that with the Stoneplate interaction he is going to be way less of a problem already, yes? No need to double nerf him.

Plus, he's not unbeatable. People like you screaming GG because he went through and got picked are out of your minds. He doesn't have a 100% winrate, Liandry absolutely shits on him and it's not asking for too much for your Mage to build it. Now if you play Yi Yasuo and some random melee top laner/diver that will instantly die the moment they are in his range then it doesn't surprise me that he seems overbearing.

He shits on divers, always has and always will. Play smart.

He should still struggle reaching the ADC and remember, that role is absolutely broken beyond belief if you take a look at these boards. How come these OP DPS assassins can't deal with somebody because he has a lot of HP? Because he one shots them? He one shots you if you allow him to. Any decent support can peel off or at least temporarily stop a Cho running at you with Glory while you can melt him and reposition properly.

To be honest, Riot should be ashamed by a lot of things that they done recently...

AcidTheWarlock2 votes

They're putting out changes for Stoneplate so you get 50% of the HP as base and 50% as bonus so his burst will be lower.

Rather, their balance philosophy seems to be to rotate viability of champions by intentionally pushing certain groups or champions into the meta, and also intentionally forcing others out. This is opposed to the idea that the balance goal should be for every champion to be viable all the time due to a system of countering wherein champions basically play an unending game of rock-paper-scissors. Counter-picking seems to be dying.

LordGeovanni1 votes

so when if ever we gonna push crit adcs out of the meta.

Solitair1 votes

Crit is actually just the intended build path of almost any marksman, more or less. Other builds are either accidental, unintended, or just completely rare. With the exception of just 1 or 2 ad's, crit and AS are just teh scaling factors of the marksman class. I mean, we might pretend we don't want it but it is honestly way preferable over lethality ADC metas, and also preferrable to metas where the only viable AD's are ADs that can abuse bruiser items.

LordGeovanni1 votes

Crit adcs werent a thing until the latter half of season 3 before adcs picked up either item 3031 or item 3087 as the only crit damage in their builds. builds were item 3153 item 3006 item 3072 item 3031 item 3085 (when it didnt have crit) and any defensive item that fit the situation item 3143 item 3065 item 3102 Atamas impailer. Only fighters went 3+ crit items before half way though season 3 item 3031 item 3087 item 3078 and had maybe 60% crit maybe 55%. 1 year after adcs start building hard crit they cry about the rng and riot reworks crit to be more reliable when crit is supposed to be an rng stat. Maybe some ad assassins went crit too.

???

BoRK didn't even exist until S2, and prior to that its equivalent (Madred's) was considered a noob trap on pretty much anyone except POSSIBLY Kog.

The typical build has always been crit, with IE/PD in the earlier seasons and IE/Statikk Shiv in the later, plus whatever the hell we have going now. BoRK was only ever a very common build on Vayne, Kog, Twitch, and Trist, so the majority of ADCs have always been crit based. Trist and Twitch of those four have been typically more focused on Crit, with the BoRK build falling in and out of favor.

Edit: Sorry, I forgot Lucian has always been a BoRK ADC, but I hate him anyway.

Adcs did build bortk but bortk was made for fighters not adcs much like crit items.

I have no problem with people complaining about the questionable 1K True Damage that Cho'Gath can dish out with a single ability (albeit it's an Ultimate ability). I hate those who exaggerate the damage and claim it can reach 2K+ because of item 3193.

Cho'Gath with a Full Build and at 6 Stacks can deal up to 1.5K True Damage Max.

Can we please stop exaggerating so Riot takes us seriously and not ignore our complaints because it looks like we have no idea what we're talking about.

Maligaro Spike1 votes

1,5K true dmg is enough to oneshot a squishy ADC or APC with 90-80% of his health depending on their items, also cho can add some dmg with his abilities especially his E that adds that little bit of dmg needed for finish off his target.

Idk if cho being immobile is enough to justify such high dmg on a point and click ability
