Even every streamer I watch is hating on league really bad.

Nb3 wants to stream fortnite, he said that's all he plays in his free time, since it's so frustrating to play league. Wickd stopped playing league 'cuz he's sick of bot lane deciding games and his title was "actually playing games where skill maters". Tarzaned just said he doesn't want to play this game anymore, that bot lane decides every game, either xayah/cait/trist etc. Trick playing pubg and fortnite more and more too. Dyrus wants to play other games for a long while now. Qtpie and scarra said directly to rioters how bad the game is right now. Even fucking Voyboy, probably the most chill streamer, was saying how frustrated he is with teams. He went from challenger 400 lp to d1. I guess all his fault though amirite, git gud voyboy.

You can say some stuff about these guys, but they are/were all challenger players and the game is frustrating even to them. Too snowbally and too dependant on your teams/autofills, few selected cc tanks, and bot lane is ... ehh we all know. Thank god I stopped playing solo q before I went insane and I'm messing around in flex now, 'cuz I think I'd lose my mind playing ranked right now. Yeah, riot started working on some things, but it's just soooo slow. I have yet to see someone like 15-20 mins game in diamond ++. Either they're tilted 'cuz they lost so fast, or they're just indifferent they won so fast.

Well thats nothing new TBH

Just watch the "hashinshin finally loses it" video. I don't normally agree with hashinshin, hell, I usually laugh my ass off listening to him, but he literally says how it is to play league of legends in 2018

BobaFlautist31 votes

Yeah, the old guard is getting more and more tired and burned out after playing the same very intense video game at an incredibly high competitive level for 7+ years.

This isn't shocking, and this doesn't necessarily reflect on League's playability. It's a natural process.

LegitBacon6693 votes

Frustration == Boredem/Burnt out

BobaFlautist15 votes

It might not for you, but a lot of people manifest their burn-out as frustration/boredom.

When you've been doing he same thing for years, and it feels less interesting and more effortful than it used to, it's pretty natural to feel bored and frustrated.

HalcyonDweller67 votes

You are completely ignoring the reasons people are frustrated in favor of saying, "well they're just burnt out."

One could just as easily say, "well you're just a fanboy." See how inane and useless this is?

Don't try to dismiss people by telling them what they think, the arrogance of claiming they think or feel something is just so... I can't even find the words.

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but you should really shut up about this.

Much as I agree he's wrong, grow up. If you don't have the patience, stay off the Boards until you feel better. Don't use your mood as an excuse.

HalcyonDweller11 votes

It's not an excuse, I'm not in the mood to deal with bullshit. Emphasis on bullshit.

He was implying that it's logical to dismiss people by calling them "fanboys." That or that it's logical to dismiss people by saying they're just burnt out. One way or the other it's still bullshit.

ShaolinToilet6 votes

Dismiss? He provided a logical argument and you just say it's the same as calling someone a fanboy. At least put a little effort into thinking before you post

HalcyonDweller16 votes

He said that everyone who's frustrated with league's concerns were invalid simply because they are old-guard who are burnt out after years of play.

There is nothing logical about that. Except maybe the logical fallacy he used, but only because the word logical is part of the label for what he did.

Well said and everyone should be concerned about it, yeah old guards do get burned out sometimes but never this many at the same time that's just abnormal and very concerning to see.

HalcyonDweller16 votes

Haha a d&d reference, thanks for brightening my day :)

Do you play, by any chance?

Karn Bishop5 votes

I used too yeah, my schedules not conductive to attending regular games now though so I've stopped playing for the time being.

HalcyonDweller6 votes

I'm sorry that your schedules aren't allowing you to play. I try to play with a friend group from college but our schedules make it difficult too.

What are some of your favorite classes and/or stories / characters that you've made?

Karn Bishop6 votes

I've only ever made mage class chars and usually wizards at that, my most memorable one was a judgemental male wizard who was convinced that short people were the most horrible evil beings in existence and his belief in this was constantly strengthened by a fellow gnome party member who always seemed put us into dangerous situations on accident, eventually said gnome triggered an artifact that when used properly can use various planes as a shortcut to places on the prime plane unfortunately she dice rolled selection which sent us to a different region which is not a problem except the plane of chaos was used as the midway point so all chars had to roll to gain something which could be good or bad, i rolled race transformation i then rolled again to select race and landed on halfling.

My wizard slowly went insane over the next few sessions and was killed by the party after i successfully killed 2 party members who my wizard rationalized as the reason for his new eternal suffering, both players wanted to roll a new char so this was not a big deal and was discussed before hand before i made my attempts on their lives to see if i would succeed.

You have any favorite chars?

That. Is. Awesome. Props for setting up the character re-rolls like that, communicating with fellow players before doing something disruptive can be super important.

Well I too, play mostly casters. So far I've played a Wizard and a Sorcerer. But I'm attempting to branch out. Druid is my next experiment, and it's fun but they're more like a wizard than I was expecting... which is both good and bad since I like casters but was meaning to branch out more.

My Gnome Wizard used to be part of a council of great wizards, and he was investigating some nefarious goings on when his memories were lost and he awoke somewhere in the wilderness. (This was his backstory).

It's a fun spin on gaining levels, because when he gains levels it's like he's actually just regaining his memories. And the GM has a lot of room for plot hooks because the character "knew" a lot of important people but now he doesn't remember anything. It's especially convenient for the story since the character has amnesia.

I went school of Illusion because that looked fun and it did not disappoint. Illusions are the greatest because of how creative you can be with them. I've used an illusion to trick an enemy into attacking their own siege weapon and destroying it. Earlier, to kick off that very same encounter we snuck up behind an encampment and used Silence + Fireball to wreck some enemies in the back-line without alerting anybody else (at least temporarily).

Karn Bishop3 votes

Thats a pretty interesting backstory i like it, and yeah spell casters even druids are awesome to play as and get even better with level, though monks can be fun too if the dm allows monk related gear to be found.

Most players that started in later seasons probably don't know the difference between being burnt out and frustrated. I'm a S1 addict to league of legends.

The only computer game besides AoE2 that I have played on my computer since LoL came out (until this season) was Lol.

This is the first season that I have been trying other video games. I want to play lol really badly, but instantly have queue remorse as soon as I hit the accept button, because I know I'm going to have another shitty lopsided button mashing game.

I am not burnt out. I want to play more. I am angry that the game is just button mashing highest dps auto wins. It makes the game boring AF... If I wanted to do that I would go play halo/cod and one shot people there.

Hit the nail on the head. Last time I checked, I didn't elect anyone as an ambassador of how I experience the game anyway. No shade to any of those guys named, but them disregarding the game doesn't affect me in any fashion....fanboy post for sure.

I think Kai'sa was a step in the right direction. now they just need to nerf all the existing champs to her level.

The fact that so many pros, especially the highest tier ones like QT and others, are saying that LoL is in a bad state should make it pretty obvious that the game is in need of serious changes. QT has even said in several of his videos and streams that bot lane is insanely overpowered.

Bricky and Trinnimortal also admit to playing League less and less, albiet these two are a bit lower on the ladder compared to the big names.

Here come all the rebuttals that have no substance: "They're burned out guys, the games still fun, you're just a hater, rose colored glasses."

Or maybe.... just maybe... Riot fucked with their game pacing so hard then tried to balance tweak their way out of it which compounded the situation even worse. And maybe... just maybe... some people have noticed that it's creating a game that is fundamentally skewed.

Or you can throw some some more strawman arguments at me.

I'm a support main and I can confirm that whoever wins bot, usually tips the scale and makes the game so much harder for the other team to win. Especially if their ADC who's fed is a Tristana Twitch Vayne Xayah cause good luck trying to kill them when their support is usually a Lulu Nami Alistar Leona peel machine.

Its because they love the game and would like it to be as enjoyable as they remember it. At least thats how it is for most.

Granted, how they remember it is sometimes with tinted glasses.

honestly, league dug itself a hole, placed a hose, firmly at the bottom, covered the hose pipe at the bottom with a 1000 lbs of cement, then league firmly placed itself into the cement, while the player base turned on the water to the hose... With the minion changes coming, riot will slowly begin filling the hole it dug... hopefully, they can remove themselves from the hole, but i fear it maybe far to late...

(yes, yes, very descriptive, but i could of said much worse... keep that in mind...)

Sky williams said it best, Dunkey quit league because it wasn't fun anymore, and that was 3 years ago - and with riot focusing so much on it being a team game rather than individual skill - they have only set themselves up to fail

ŚtrongMental2 votes

lets go on to further say in solo//duo q - you fucking dont know who your oging to be matched up against, 3+ other people that may know fuck all about the game, and you cant really put anyone on your back anymore - so your really relying on "team" strategy & enemy fuck ups... thats NOT going to last in the long run

HavokDash4 votes

IN my experience. People can say its a "team" game all they fking want, But most of the people who play this game wont even Register thier team. Players will completely ignore the "team" aspect of the game if they decide "yeah...I could help my team get dragon and fight off those 4 people trouncing them pretty hard...or I can go try and get that solo kill pusher in top lane. Hmm....Yeah I need the kill" So Team does, enemy gets the dragon...and more than likely the player FAILS to get the kill because the "lone" player they went after saw them coming a mile away and got out of danger.

But these players will still turn around and call to report thier "Trash team" while going on about all the kills they have.

They say its a team game when its convenient. But in game treat it like a Halo Free for all. All that matters is that THEY get the "most kills, bruh" bragging rights. And as a support, I can sacrifice myself to save the team or help bring down a tower. But still get told how "garbage" I am and how I need to be "reported for feeding" So I pretty much stopped treating this as a team game. Just a free for all fight against your own team. If you have the least ammount of kills, you will get flamed and reported for "feeding' so the rest of the team can go back to patting themselves on the back.

I'll be quite honest with you, I only watch them because of how good they are at the game. I'd lose interest in them almost immediately if they tried to play any other game and I think there's a fair share of people who feel the same way about them. The people you named off are typically watched because of how good they are at something, not because they're absolutely hysterical to watch and I think they sorta know this too otherwise they would have changed to another game.

Granted Smite is holding up just fine, its back there somewhere. It's doing its own thing and that ain't bad honestly. It has a loyal fanbase and the game is very fun right now ever since Hi-Rez fix S4 around the midway point. S4 was when I quit, I hated S4 so much as Mage main. Granted I main Anubis, luckily Ra, Chang'e, Nox, and Thoth are very fun to play. I just wish a lot of the Gods weren't so one dimensional gameplay wise.

To be fair Paragons devs just did not listen to the playerbase for majority of the time they were up. The game HAD potential to be good but the balancing in terms of champions and the map was just awful and they just didn't care enough to fix it.

Dude LoL has no competition coz other games are garbage.

When a MOBA is released that is just like League in terms of gameplay design but actually fun to play, I think most of the LoL base will make the switch.

League would be fun if ranged champs didnt butt-fuck melee's into prolapse, but I guess Riot just wants to keep going on this path to the end

Professional players can complain all they want. Qtpie and Sneaky coined the ADC in 2017 meme.

As long as they don’t try to discourage people from playing the game or intentionally make Riot look bad, it’s fine.
