Why first turret blood is a GOOD thing

When riot added first turret blood it was to fix the theme in esports of turret trading. But reports came out that it increased snowballing. "70% of people that get first turret win the game" Now think, is this BECAUSE of the first turret, or did someone get fed, destroy lane, and get first turret because of it.

While first turret is HELPFUL, it cant by itself swing a game. In fact its actually helpful, so many times my team instead of rushing to get as many kills as they can before laning ends. They rush to get first turret. Meaning most turrets are decently low by the time first turret actually gets taken since everyone is trying to get it. It also can cause teams to be much more coordinates like "bot roam up after they back and jg gank at the same time in mid and let's get ft"

Adding the first turret gets people thinking much more objectively about pushing and knocking down turrets especially in early stages of the game.

Basically, the difference between:

  • Players are winning because they get first-blood turret
  • The winning players are getting first-blood turret

You should break the post down into paragraphs so people can read it easier and not down vote you for your lack of structure.

Looks much neater. And it's definitely an interesting read.

If only that were true. People STILL refuse to push the lanes. If anything, they've doubled down on that because of the whole turret first blood thing.

In essence what TC is saying is that the nature of the change is making people play differently and making them play more aggressively towards objectives as opposed to the objective itself actually being the cause of the snowballing.

It's funny what a simple change in perspective can do to peoples outlook on the game.

Well said TC.
