Wasn't part of the reason Executioner's Calling was originally removed is because it was too toxic?

You know, APs with Morellonomicon, Ignite, kit given Grievous like Varus E or Kat R, so naturally, the item that was letting auto attacks apply it, and wasn't core in anyone's builds, was taken out. Also because it was rarely built, but that's not the point here. Seriously, paired with AP item nerfs and especially the Zhonya's nerf, some champs will literally be unplayable. DrMundo pretty much lost half his kit since he's based on healing. Warwick Sustain master of the world gets even worse. Swain literally unplayable when you consider the grievous wounds and Zhonya's change. Fiddlesticks have fun, buddy. Also, Fiddle still doesn't have a decent AP jungle item, and also Karthus, but I get flamed for that anyways. Vladimir is gonna be practically useless, Olaf combined with all the other ad item changes is pretty much nonexistant. XinZhao more nerfs to AP Xin after Sated got it preemptively nerfed. Yorick Still doesn't exist in the game. Volibear practically won't have a passive, but that doesn't matter because adcs are going to be broken as fuck anyways so they kite him--don't worry though, now the TriForce he gets will have some crit!MasterYi W pretty much becomes poor man's Zhonya's that you can be CC'd in.Kayle combined with Runaan's changes and AP item changes won't be viable as AP (not like she hasn't been nerfed enough to not be viable anyways).

Weeeeeee, I love balanced changes. Don't worry, they get like 5 less AD on bf items, clearly balanced.

It was removed, not because GW is toxic on attacks, but because the item itself was in competition with Infinity Edge for a slot due to the stat niche it filled.

On-hit effects aren't that useful to Crit champions, so what matters are the stats. Its stats were AD and Crit. Because attack-based champions scale multiplicatively on 4 stats--AD, AS, Crit and ArPen--stacking too much of one or two stats is not as efficient as spreading them out. 4x4x4x4 > 13x1x1x1, 7x7x1x1 and 5x5x5x1.

So, unless your champion's damage output scaled such that you could get by with just AD and Crit, you had what was basically a poor man's stat stick that couldn't possibly measure up to its competitor in any regard.

Meanwhile, Morellonomicon has existed for a long time (although at one point it was "Morello's Evil Tome") and has gone from "Weaker Chalice with ExCa's active" (back when it was an active) to an item worth its slot, strong but situational.

it was more balance before when it only activated on crits because it forced crit carries to have to buy it some times to help their team and made them trade damage for utility though the utility needed a higher crit chance to be effective all the time which is how it should be now they will still make adcs pick up all damage and that new last whisprer that will punishish tanks for being tanky as if thats not their job and bruisers and juggernauts to take the new executioners calling

Hahaha, executioner's calling was removed because no one bought it. It had awkward stats and was rarely a good choice for any situation because of said stats
