He's a high difficulty character. People play him who do not quite understand how to use him because they see him on LCS.

his skillcap is very very high. and his skill floor is unforgiving.

whereas lee sin has a high skill cap, even a bad lee sin can at least be somewhat useful early as the early game damage is pretty high and is easy to use....azir on the other hand will routinely get punished if he doesnt understand his positioning and soldier management.

He has a low winrate because it's easy to be terrible with him. He gets played in pro play because when you are actually skilled with him he is complete bonkers.

Because win rate is irrelevant when trying to access just how strong a specific champion is.

Because league is a l2p game.

Because he has a high skill cap and floor and most people who play him are sheep

Meddler recently said something along the lines of that he's a really hard champion compared to others, and that if he actually had a 50% win rate he would be overpowered for solo queue (alongside Leblanc, apparently?).

So Azir is supposed to have a low winrate, apparently.

Not only does he have a very high skill cap, but his kit is significantly stronger in a 5v5 team situation compared to the chaos of soloq.

Also, his win rate tends to go up the higher elo in soloq you reach. His winrate for NA challenger last month was 66%, granted a very small sample size.

In the LCS, the players know how to play the champions they use. In solo queue, that isn't always the case.

Azir is extremely difficult to play because of all the mechanics integrated into his kit. This makes the average solo queue player not able to use him to his full effectiveness the same way that players can in the LCS and high level play.

In addition, solo queue players have a bad habit of picking things they see in LCS without understanding how they work. They see Azir in LCS, they pick Azir regardless of whether they know how to play him.

Statistically, people with a ton of games on him have around 50% winrate. He just takes a while to learn.

It sucks that they took away his CDR=AS passive. I'd much rather have that over the wimpiest turret of all time.

*High skill floor, unlike Lee Sin. Skill ceiling just means a champ is hard to fully master, but Azir is also hard to learn.

Thanks for the correction. That's what I meant. I knew it didnt look right when I wrote it lol

Because he is the only one that ever gets killed, so once he dies the team loses

He is hard to play, but strong in the right hands. He's the prime example of a high skillfloor/skillcap character.

If only my hands were the right hands:( I'm terrible with him.
