I doubt he will get a new E as Riot loves LCS big plays and dynamic queue but I have an idea.
New E, defend the emperor: Azir consumes 1 charge of sand soldier to grant himself a shield for 1-2 seconds based on his AP. Moderate cooldown even with 40% cdr.
What this does is remove his over 9000 range dash and absurd safety but give him SOME survivability in the lane phase before he gets his ult.

The azir ended with like 16 deaths or something because as they tried dashing.... low and behold... theres knock ups! Safety would be a teleport or jump that happens even if you are suppressed because you used it just before the suppression hit...... but theres no champions like that either right?
Oh right..... theres ezreal and tristana! Silly me. (And yes, blitzcrank pull does supress supposedly)
Tbh if you think of it like a leblanc dash, which it basically is..... you shouldnt have too much of a hassle.
